We moved here in early summer of 1959, so I am about to celebrate 60 years of residency.
Joined the service from here and returned to go to CU Boulder.
It was cheaper to pay 5 years of Colorado State back taxes and claim residency status then to pay 1 semester of out-of-state tuition.
It was a struggle on the GI Bill ($135/month total) to come up with the $200 of back taxes, but the savings on tuition was real.
Extra jobs, gold panning in Left Hand Canyon, and contract work supplemented my costs to graduation.
Married a 3rd generation Colorado girl (her parents and grandparents were from Victor, CO)
My job required I travel to a lot of other states for 40 years, and:
