That's cool as hell Irving. Nice work.
Thanks. That punch worked out better than I could have imagined. I knew I wanted both texture and a bit of roundness for the center section and the punching also stretched the steel into a curve.
If anybody's really bored, my truck needs the oil changed.....
Irving, here's a Sunflower poem you can print out all nice and give to her if you want:
"Believe Me, If All Those Endearing Young Charms"
Thomas Moore
Quote:
Believe me, if all those endearing young charms,
Which I gaze on so fondly to-day,
Were to change by to-morrow, and fleet in my arms,
Live fairy-gifts fading away,
Thou wouldst still be adored, as this moment thou art,
Let thy loveliness fade as it will,
And around the dear ruin each wish of my heart
Would entwine itself verdantly still.
It is not while beauty and youth are thine own,
And thy cheeks unprofaned by a tear,
That the fervor and faith of a soul may be known,
To which time will but make thee more dear!
No, the heart that has truly loved never forgets,
But as truly loves on to the close,
As the sunflower turns on her god when he sets
The same look which she turned when he rose!
Irving, cool project.
Thought for next texture project. Tack your texture device to a sacrificial hammer. Make it a one handed operation instead of two.
That is very nice!

Baking and walking my dog. Kouign amman on this day.
Its hard to get "board" when there is so much to get caught up on for the competition shooting season. So far I have reloaded four brimming 5 gallon buckets of 40 caliber ammo for the 2020 shooting season. Pulling the handle on my trusty Dillon XL650 is getting old though.....
