My buddy that raises German Short Hairs for pheasant hunting starts them off by banging pots and pans together while they are eating while they are still pups. After they get used to that he has them sit by him while he shoots skeet. That seems to work pretty well.
Well long overdue update to the Alamo thread. He got his first experience with real snow and had a great time. He also survived a 15 hour road trip down to Texas! Next month he is scheduled to get his balls chopped. Does anyone know how much of a behavioral change I should expect to see with him after the snip?

Looking like a great pup! After the snip, due to the lower testosterone, he will probably be a little less inclined to hump everything within reach and may be a little easier to train (more submissive, less independent and dominant).
