Have fun guys and gals, I won't be able to make it. Heading to another major match this weekend.
Have fun guys and gals, I won't be able to make it. Heading to another major match this weekend.
Anyone know how long the drive is from the west side of denver up to CRC? Google maps shows 1 hour to byers, but 2 hours to CRC itself... is that really right? Trying to figure out how early I need to get started to make it up there by the new-shooter time.
Takes me about an hour from Thornton I think.
From I-70 and Wadsworth it is about 70 minutes if you go the speed limit and don't granny it on the dirt roads. If you only go 25 mph on the dirt roads, add 20 minutes, which is a good call if muddy.
cool, ty all for the info... Hopefully I'll be able to drag my ass out of bed early enough to make it up there. Was planning to hit the one up at clear creek a couple weeks back, but schedule didn't work out. I'm coming from chatfield area, so it'll be a little haul, but I'm going to give it a try.
I looked thru all the info on the links provided above, but couldn't tell how many mags and how much ammo I need. Planning to shoot my 1911, but also have my sr9c as an option.
Matches are no more than 90 rounds, but it is possible to reshoot a stage. I don't think I've ever shot more than 100. You can get by with 3 mags, but 4 is better, especially with a 1911. This match is five stages instead of the usual four, so count on the higher end of 90 rounds.
I usually bring 150 rds and have never even been close to using all.

Hope you all enjoyed the match today. If you enjoyed the new platform in berm 7, a note to board members thanking them for funding it would be helpful. Now that the land purchase has been completed, we are hopeful that some more improvements to the East range will occur in 2015, so letting the BOD know that we appreciate their support is good for us all.
I certainly enjoyed the platform. Thanks to whomever built it. Took forever to break down at the end of the match and barely fit in the shed though.
For those that missed today (pretty much everyone) we got to shoot this today. Was pretty fun.
Scores are done!

I really enjoyed last saturdays event, and looking forward to the next one. Hope the weather holds out for us.
And the platform is really cool.
I joined IDPA tonight...kinda diggin' that.
Sweet.
I'll be able to see the suck level, only, everyone else can see it too !! lol. Hell, I'm trying, I suppose I'll get better with more practice and time on the scenarios.. :)
Hey all, the October ECOIDPA match is sadly cancelled.
Almost all the staff is out of town, and I don't want to shove all of that on just a few people.
Sorry for those of you looking forward to it, we will sneak another one or two in before the New Year.
Can't we just have Kevin show up at 4am? He should have plenty of time to set the entire thing up by the time I get there at 9:45ish.
Damn never thought of that, great Idea! Lol
Bummer...the weather is going to be fantastic, and I was really looking forward to Saturday.
I'll be there whenever the next one is....and I need to look into getting an actual qualifier under my belt one of these days.
If it's possible to pull it off.......I'm willing to get out there really early and help set everything up, in order to help keep the regularly scheduled plan going..... AND get started on time.
I will however, need to boogie out of there as soon as the last shots are fired....I have a very important meeting to attend by 3:00 pm over in Westminster.
I think it is more an issue of lack of people to run each stage, rather than just the set-up.
Gotcha....thx.
Hey all,
It's that time of the month again for an IDPA match.....Its also that time where the weather doesn't like to cooperate. So far it is looking like a decent window to get a match in, and that's the plan! If any weather comes up there will be an announcement sent out as well as postings on the web page and Facebook page. Until then plan on coming out for some fun!
As usual the details are here: - And remember if you show up to help with setup, not only do you get a peek at the stages, you also save $5 bucks!
And as a side note for all of you bugging us about a side match........look for those in the not so distant future! Details to follow.

If you are coming out to shoot tomorrow make sure you tuck an extra $5 in your wallet....we will be having a bonus stage and the person with the best time wins! $5 buy in - winner takes all!
Just something to spice it up a bit more!
So don't miss it!
Cool...sounds like fun.
Great match today. I had a lot of fun and like it when the Air Force shooting team shows up. I wish they'd integrate into the other groups though. How much did the winner end up taking?
I heard it was $85, Irving.
Nice to see you up there today, bro. I'd rather have been in the same group with you though.
When Kris mentioned it was up to $80, that was before me and at least 3 other people signed up, so I thought it might have even been $100. I really liked this side match idea though. I didn't have high hopes, but stuck around anyway and was glad that I did because I got lucky and cleared it in much less time than I thought. We'll shoot again soon I'm sure OBC.
The shootout stage paid out $100!!!!
they can't integrate more because they have to all be near that security guy, so the are kinda stuck together.
Fun time though, I have hockey tonight but will have scores up sometime after midnight.
I'm going to wait up for the scores! Hope you win at hockey.
I love the buy in idea, it's not much $ for a chance at winning a hell of a return! For sure we will do it again in the future!
Cool.
Sorry all for scoring delay, working through a computer issue atm, should be up later today
