The picture was taken from a press release today. I had heard that they sent a U-2 up to check the thing out. It would be great to see some data like Altitude, Time and Airspeed. Nice picture!
It looks like we can see the curvature of the earth in the picture, so yeah, cool picture, but also scary, when you realize those are likely huge solar panels, under a huge balloon, supporting xyz payload.
It would be nice to identify the shoreline at the top of the picture.
Also, from what I understand, the U-2 is a handful at altitude, banking and turns are very slow. It's very interesting 'they' are still keeping a/the U-2 on-call! I like it.
Saw a couple of Huey helos fly over the casa this morning, is the military still using those?
