I had a brand new 13mm Snap-On wrench that the box end was just a round hole. Wanted to keep it for a conversation piece but the dealer took it from me to warranty it out.
As others said tool for pressing or custom made to fit a bolt that was too close to the wall. Rather than wrench with an open end he made a custom wrench.
My dad has tons of wierd tools. Wierdly welded wrenches. Sockets that have been cut and welded to a tube and some ground down offset box wrenches for those pesky fasteners.
Keep it, you may need it and don't know it yet.
