One trick people use is to cut the head off of a spoon and glue it to the bottom of their shoe. Then as they walk the roof during an inspection, they twist their ankle each time and grind out a mark onto the roof. Or they use a quarter or nickle to carve out a "bruise." That leaves a distinct mark though because the roof tar gets dragged over the top of the granules. One time I could see the striations from the side of the quarter. Meanwhile, total amateurs use a ball peen hammer, or a regular hammer, and stand in one spot so all the marks are in a big arc that just so happens to be an arm's length wide.

Good thing I didn?t let any of the endless stream of roofing contractors that came by after the storm on my roof.

I don't understand doing shit like that in Colorado, especially this time of year. There are houses that are completely BLASTED from hail. Why even waste your time, or risk the trouble to fake damage?

"I already got twelve other houses bought in this neighborhood bro!"
