I mean, technically, they're right. Reflecting light off a white ceiling DOES better illuminate the area. But I think people just don't realize what they're doing or that there's a specific direction to install it. Or, they think it looks better that way.Quote:

All of the excuses offered would suggest installing it sideways to maximize these percieved benefits/advantages ...how many pictures of those do you have?
I've seen this at probably 10 different houses (one has something like 12 lights, all upside-down), but could maybe only dig up about five pictures.
On another note, did you know that there is a forest fire in the Amazon right now going on day 16? The socials are pitching the story as a problem that our media isn't even bothering to report on it.
