One of the news channels is doing a daily report of the number of children killed by firearms in the current week.
My wife's first question was, why aren't they reporting the number killed in traffic accidents this week?

I was getting ready for a garage sale, and was recalling that I used to go to the flea market on Federal north of I-70 on the week-ends when I got out of the service in the early 70's.
I would sell the lamps I made in my spare time while back in college.
Firearms were on display, for sale, and traded just like any other item being sold.
My little view of the world has changed substantially since then.

I have so many bits & bobs I could easily sell @ a garage sale.

I just don't have it in me to do the CL & nextdoor & whatnot.

Are yard sales as much of a pain as I imagine them to be?

People want rock bottom prices and I think they are just looking for a deal too good to pass up. Other than that, it does get rid of your stuff. When you are done, just donate it as you wont make much with a garage sale.

No. Yard sales are where people come, make you unreasonable offers, you haggle, and they clean up your junk for you while leaving you money for stuff you would likely throw out next year anyway. Made enough to take family to a nice dinner.

As long as there is a neighborhood Garage/yard sale happening, you get free advertising. And put everything in the driveway with free signs taped to everything, it is no hassle at all. You don’t even have to open your door or monitor the items.
This is how I got rid of a bunch of crap without making a trip to the dump.

I'd rather just donate it to ARC or Goodwill.

Yep. Already put a few things out for the parents to fight over when they picked up their kids @ the school.

Then they left the free sign as litter in the street.


I wasn't the least bit surprised.

I don't really like 'people' all that much lately.

Not sure I could hold my tongue at a bunch of folks pawing @ things I like enough to not put in a dumpster or too fragile to survive the arc donation ride.
