Ever had moonshine pickles?
The tree/shrub on the left is Chitalpa, a cross between Desert Willow and Catalpa. It has flowers like the Catalpa but blooms much longer from June to November. The hummingbirds use it heavily. I have four in the yard and will plant more next year.
Over the leach field are the low growing Desert Four-O'clock with their lavender flowers. The hummers, butterflies and bees use this, and Gambel's Quail sometimes nest under them. It's vine-like and all of it above ground dies off for the winter but the roots are deep and regrow each year.
Won't be closed in. Will have a post/rail fence section with gate at north end to match rest of fence we built this summer for the princess. Deck goes to north end of house and across to other side and back south as far as the section in pic.
Will post few more pics.
Every time I see the book cliffs I wonder about the erosion that created them.
Western slope views will always be the best.
Looking out from Lands End or from our place north of Eckert over Grand Valley, GRV and Colo Monument. We called it the Grand View and argued how far we could see.
Four rail post/rail fence with 5' chain link. GSD proof so far and rusticy for Mrs bo.

Picket/panel section is just temporary as I could not run post/rail fence to side of house until deck built. The post/rail fence will be incorporated into the deck and will have a gate in it to access rest of deck that wraps three sides of the house. Reba will have access to section of deck in back yard only.

Hopefully just keep them out. If we end up staying in Colorado we intend to raise buffalo.
That fence will be 4 rail upset tubing. [emoji106]
I keep telling Mrs bo, beasts in the yard are pets, beasts in pasture are dinner. She keeps trying to get more beasts in the yard.[emoji1786]
