Bright side to my day is that I'm going shooting with a friend & the Beretta 391.
Been looking forward to sporting clays & the challenge of it, so there's that. See how that goes.

Lawn work took too long.
No upsets today. Zzzzz
Took me half a day, but I finally feel recovered after 3 straight days spent dredging for gold in 40 degree water. Finding a roughly 1.5 gram button was the highlight of the trip
Ive had very little practice at shooting a shotgun in any situation & today was the first time out with this particular Beretta. If y'all didn't know I had only used a shotgun for clays once before & that was only for an hour or so of trap back in late spring/early summer. While my instruction that day was very thorough & I did very well for my first time I honestly had nearly/completely forgotten what a sight picture even was before doing this again today . . . Still, I think I did pretty well. Yay.
Very windy today which I was told added to the difficulty. Windy enough they didn't want to keep the course open & I guess it's designed to be a more morning friendly course due to the natural lighting (again so I was told @ the office).
So, I hit some clays @ all but 2 stations where I just couldn't find the sight picture in only those three attempts. One was rather far out @ 60yds & pretty high up & the other was in an elevated stand so the clays were crossing below me. I figured out what my lead & drop should be on the latter a little too late though, next time I believe I'll do better. On the flip side I hit them all at one station, 4+ @ a few other stations & at least one of each @ the remaining so all in all it was a good experience. Also. I'm not surprised that I didn't miss a rabbit. ;-)
Unfortunately we couldn't shoot the entire course before it was time to pack up but on the bright side I have a few new to me stations to try when I go next time. Soon would be my preference as I really enjoyed the outing.
Thank you WhiteWalrus for the invitation! ;-)
Also the margins on my wounds are not angry save one on the side my nose. That was also the one that was most difficult to control the bleeding because it is triangular & quite serrated.
Still don't have a guess as to why. Just weird.
Got no beef against cats but if I wake up with one attacking me I doubt it would survive.
