Did you go to Xtreme Auto in Parker?
Dammmmmnnnnn! Glad it didn't come off all the way and drop your rotor on the ground.
Things happened...mistakes were made...
That'll buff right out.
Turns out they didn't bolt the caliper back on. Which rode onto the inside of the wheel and bound up, cracking the wheel.
Shop has been extremely gracious and urgent in getting me somewhat fixed. They'll have to order a new wheel. In the meantime I'm in a stock wheel.
That's crazy! I had the same thing happen to me about a month ago.
Had my rear brakes replaced by a shop and upon getting it back we noticed a noise coming from them. Took it back the next day and they said it was just fine.
About a month later, while driving to Casper we came to our exit in Casper and the rear end locked up.
Was able to get it to a parking lot and found that they didn't tighten the caliper bolts and the top bolt fell out and the caliper fell into the wheel jamming it up.
They wrote a nice big fat check for me......
Big enough to make them tighten bolts down the next time.
I asked for the cost of bolt, 18mm socket, rachet, driver to the Casper Oreilley's, new rim and the original cost of the brake job back.
As far as I'm concerned, they got off lucky... 10 seconds prior to it happening we were going 65 MPH and 2 minutes prior to that we were going 85 MPH.
If it had happened going that fast it would have ripped our rim apart and God knows what else... And at best would have been stranded in WY in the middle of butfuk-egypt. They would have had to pay for a tow back to CO and we'd be talking to an attorney for ruining our family trip...
Yeah.. .They got off easy..
Glad you are safe
