Do you have any specific questions?
I mostly work on recips and centrifugals but we have a couple of screw types as well.
Should I consider used?
We will typically be consuming 30cfm. That will grow to 45cfm about 1 day a week. Do I need to oversize by some amount?
Are there brands I should prefer or avoid? New prices seem to vary widely. Should I spend top dollar?
Cab shop or granite shop? Both?

We run an IR UP6 25. Bought new last year, handles fab center, line polisher, water filtration system and all polishers. Rated at just over 90cfm. Don't remember what our consumption rate is listed at. Would have to dig back through files to see.
I have always had really good performance and durability from IR. Recommend IR always.
Have bought used in the past but always from/through IR. No issues.

We have 2 huge Gardner Denver ones that run an 80 bay shop with 3 paint booths haven't had any issues
I'm not going to have any useful information on this. Smaller units aren't really something I deal with.
I know our screws are IR and have been pretty much trouble free for the fifteen years or so they've been in service.
I've serviced a few. My dad has serviced many. IR is the most reliable brand we encounter. Usually just preventative maintenance.

Probably bigger than you would need, but when you upgrade to CNC and related equipment it is good machine. $10-12K price range new.
