Suddenly, I need a muzzleloader in my life....
No 4473, no NFA

Once again firearm mfg and owners able to think outside the box have given us another product. From No, Bayonet lug, flash hider or folding stock (1994) AWB, or No AK's import ban. American Companies have stepped up to make products that allow one to have fun.
Someone explain how this avoids the NFA and whatnot please.
Same way suppressed airguns do. They are not "firearms".
Yup. And modern muzzleloaders aren't some under-powered toy either. 245gr projectile heading downrange at 2,000fps? That's legit.

pffffffffft thwap. #freedom
And just over 24 hours after product launch...
Quote:
“Upon launching the Maxim 50, SilencerCo received several immediate legal challenges from authorities and lawyers in the states of New Jersey, Massachusetts, and California. Since we have no desire to place any consumer in a situation where they may get arrested and charged with a felony because their state defines a firearm differently than the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE), we have placed orders from those states on hold and are refunding customers pending legal confirmation. We will update our customers as soon as we have multiple source verification.”
