SB18-052
Repeal Ammunition Magazine Prohibition
Concerning the repeal of certain provisions concerning ammunition magazines.
LAST ACTION: 03/29/2018 | Senate Third Reading Passed - No Amendments
SPONSORS: Sen. O. Hill | Rep. S. Humphrey | Rep. L. Saine
SESSION: 2018 Regular Session
TYPE: Bill
SUBJECT: Crimes, Corrections, & Enforcement
There is still a legal challenge to the bill, funded by RMGO, progressing through appeals.
If Democrats would just pass the mag ban repeal they'd increase their chances of remaining in power (of course 1- they're not worried about losing power and 2-they have power so they can pass stupid shit like this in the first place).
I really wish they would make the bill more of a compromise like raising the limit to 30-32 rounds or requiring a background check for 15+ mags so it has a chance in the house. Then we can buy standard cap mags until a full repeal has an actual chance.
If they got rid of the limitation, they could reap the financial rewards of having shooting competitions return to the state.
I don't give it much of a chance of passing in the house. And even if it did (fat chance, IMHO) then I think Hick vetoes it. I could see some Dems in the house voting for it as a ploy to say they are pro-2A with some promise from the gov that he will take the heat for killing it in the end.
Would be great to see that piece of crap legislation go away. I just am not confident at all that the repeal is ultimately successful.
