Murdoch?s
Anyone else a fan of Murdoch?s? I?ve been going there for years for various things but never gave their gun section much thought.
I was in the other day and decided to take a look at their gun section. Despite the small size they have a good selection and can order anything in that they don?t have in stock. Their prices are better than Bud?s for most of their in stock stuff and some of it by a significant margin. I picked up a new Glock 43 for myself and will be going back next week to get a Glock 42 for the wife. Both are about $50 less than Buds right now.
Their ammo selection is sparse like everyone else?s right now but what they did have in stock was priced comparable to Walmart.
If you?re near a Murdoch?s I definitely recommend checking them out. Their clothing section is also pretty good and I find a lot of great deals on their sales.

Purchased my last two guns from them, a Gen 5 G19 and a Springfield 911 .380, I'm a big fan of Murdoch's.

their gun and accessories dept is pretty good for a store like that. I

I got a gun there and found their prices to be reasonable. Also their cost on optics is good. Accessories are mostly msrp, but they have a nice range of items. Waiting for the pandemic to subside and Marlin to catch up on their lever guns before my next purchase, but will most likely shop there.

Off the topic of Murdoch's but in relation to stores that would surprise you with gun stuff, our neighborhood Ace hardware has a great supply of ammo and reloading goods. The photos only show about half the actual supply, but I was quite impressed. Time to start reloading now that I have more room.Attachment 80959Attachment 80960

Murdoch's gun dept in Longmont is very small and their safes are oddly placed in another part of the store. Murdoch's in Clifton (GJ) is impressive. Prices are about the same as other gun/sporting goods stores. A couple years ago I inquired from several stores about buying a Kimber rifle. Cabela's wasn't interested in ordering one, Jerry's wanted higher than retail, Murdoch's in Longmont never got back to me, but Murdoch's in Clifton gave me a good deal, $200 off MSRP.

Murdochs wisely move into the vacuum of the Dick's/Walmart retreat from the shooting marketplace (even Sports Authority if you go back a bit). The recent misteps of Cabela's/Bass Pro also add to that vacuum.
When I was a kid here in CO, Gart's was king of the hill for shooting/hunting stuff, with the LGS, Walmart and Kmart fleshing out the rest of the demand.
The players have definitely changed.

I always liked Murdoch's but never bought a gun from them.
There's a store in Lewiston...North40. It's like a brick and mortar Amazon shopping experience. If they don't have you likely don't need it. Gun prices were average until they had a sale. Their sale prices were killer. I do miss that place. Gotta be something similar not too far from here. I'll have to explore once this nonsense is over.

I like their easy to navigate and easy to find shit hardware section. I needed some heavy duty carabiners for strapping down dirt bikes. Ace had them for 4.00 ea. Murdoch’s 1.25.

I went back to the one on Santa Fe just west of HR a couple of months ago. I was pleasantly surprised at how organized it was and the offerings that they had compared to a couple of years ago.
