I have second hand information (for what that's worth) that today's $.30 increase will be followed by $.30 tomorrow and $.40 on Saturday.
I was told this yesterday and didn't believe it until I just drove past a station that yesterday was $3.14 and today is $3.49.

False news. I distinctly remember sleepy Joe saying something recently that he was going to do everything in his power to bring gas prices down.
