Introduction - Kyle
Hello all. My name is Kyle and I just bought my first ever firearm: a Rock River AR-15. I honestly never thought I'd be a gun owner but I'm going into the Army as an infantryman, hopefully with a Ranger try-out option in my contract. Since I'll be waiting a while to head to Basic Training, I thought I'd purchase an AR to practice with. I'm hoping to be a little bit ahead of the curve when we hit the marksmanship qualification stage.
If anyone here has had military marksmanship training and retained their knowledge, I would love to strike up a relationship and hopefully leach some of that skill/knowledge. I've been told that people can tolerate my company from time to time and I'm willing to throw in a six pack for anyone who might be willing to share their military marksmanship advice with me on the range for a day or a half-day. If this sounds at all interesting to you, send me a PM and maybe we can arrange the teaching for beer trade. I won't promise to check my PMs religiously however, so expect a few days turnaround for me to answer any messages.
Thanks to everyone in the community for providing this resource. I'm a true neophyte to firearms, so it helps to soak up some knowledge.

Welcome. How long do you have to wait before going off to basic? Have you watched that new show Making the Cut on Discovery? I've only watched most of the first episode but it has to do with the Rangers. Crazy training.
