Need to vent about a former hunting buddy.

Well me and some friends introduced him to duck, goose, and Elk hunting. We took him to all our spots and showed him some tips and tricks. then when he has private land to hunt antelope on he tells we are welcome to join and to put in for that area(this was last year). so we did and when it came time to hunt one week prior to the begging of the season he decides he only wants to take his wife instead. and tell us " well I have a place to hunt antelope you guys are on your own". Wtf kind of person does that. and to top it off he will be hunting elk in the spot we showed him. its private which is fine but its just a knife in the back. thanks I needed to vent about that.

Some people come right out and tell you what kind of a person they are... Others, you just have to find out on your own.

Cut him off and tell him he isn't invited to hunt on your areas. Jacked up what he did.

I don't take hardly anybody to my spots, even my best friends don't know where I elk hunt. You have to keep good things a secret.

Tell him the latest fashion trend is to wear a real fur coat when he hunts.

i meant my elk spot was public. but still im so damn pissed

make sure he doesn't have a gun with him and call him a mother f**ker to his face. Tell him your done with him as a "hunting" buddy. You might loose a friend, but now days, having access to private land, and being able to harvest is becoming a premium. I have no issue calling some former friends mofo's after they pulled the same crap with me. Hermit trolls like me don't have friends anymore because of friends like that...

Tell you what been there got the hat, the pins, the t-shirts, and even the goofy tourist brochure.

It's a catch 22 we need to share the sports we enjoy but half of the time you get screwed by those you're trying to help out. I've had to learn to just move on. The ones that don't screw you over end up being friends for life.

nope don't believe his wife wants to hunt at all he lost his 2 real hunting buddies, and now he has no one to hunt with.

On a related note, I saw a couple of pronghorn grazing last night...between Gun Club road and E-470 at about Jewell ave... [facepalm] I probably could have whacked one with a long handled shovel.

Maybe you could just take his wife to your secret hunting spot. Hell someone needs to clean up and get beers between hunts. Plus if it gets cold I would rather snuggled with a her then a him.
