FBI agent shot unarmed suspect - Todashev

Is the FBI using old KGB techniques, or was this perhaps an overreaction, or did the MMA trained suspect take the agent down to the mat?

An official, the newspaper reported, said that according to one account of the shooting, the other law enforcement officials had just stepped out of the room, leaving the FBI agent alone with Todashev, when the confrontation occurred.

The Florida branch of the Council on American-Islamic Relations has called for a federal civil rights investigation into Todashev's death.

"We have confirmed through senior sources within the FBI that Ibragim was indeed unarmed when he was shot seven times in the head, what appear to be even in the back of the head," said Hassan Shibly, executive director of the CAIR Florida. "That's very disturbing."

7 times in the head... no comment.

I wouldn't trust anyone from CAIR to tell me my own name.

MOSCOW (AP) - The father of a Chechen immigrant killed while being interrogated by the FBI about his ties to a Boston Marathon bombings suspect says agents killed his son "execution style."
At a press conference Thursday in Moscow, Abdul-Baki Todashev showed journalists 16 photographs he said were of his son, Ibragim, in a Florida morgue. He said his son had six gunshot wounds to his torso and one to the back of his head and the pictures were taken by his son's friend, Khusen Taramov.
It was not immediately possible to authenticate the photographs.
The FBI says 27-year-old Ibragim Todashev was killed during a violent confrontation last week while being questioned about his ties to slain Boston Marathon bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev, as well as about a 2011 triple slaying in Massachusetts.

And too much focus on the fact that he was "unarmed." So what? An unarmed man, with the right training, can be just as dangerous as an armed man, especially in really close proximity.
