I need to set up my NFA Trust....
This seems to me to be a great SHTF tool to have... I mean, oil filters are cheap and pretty abundant...

That's pretty neat shit JM.
Kinda hard to see around though.
Solvent Trap Adapter [hahhah-no]
Jm, you just got served.
As an SHTF tool, its cool ... of course for SHTF you could just make your own pretty easily.
As a registered NFA item I don't like it because you have to send the worn out oil filter back to the manufacturer to be replaced instead of simply going down to Walmart and picking up a new one.
They stamp the serial number on both the adapter and the oil filter, so if you want to comply with the law you're going to send the filter back in to them when it wears out and they'll send you a new one (I think that whole process costs like $15 or something*). And lest you think that you can just use another filter or just stamp the number on your own filter and replace it yourself, there's also some sort of obnoxious ATF form that has to be filled out each time.
*ETA: Actually it's $25 - MFG's web site
The one thing that I find odd is that they sell the "solvent trap adapter" which basically allows you to attach an oil filter to the muzzle of your gun for the purpose of catching solvent while cleaning (but does not cover the holes in the back side of the filter thus preventing it from quieting the gun) AND they sell a washer to cover the holes to prevent the solvent from "splashing back out of the filter". So for $45 you could have basically the suppressor adapter without paying the $200 stamp but you better never use it as a suppressor *nudge*nudge*wink*wink*
