68 pieces of titanium in his skull

So today I ran into this guy; I was talking to his mom about making bags for the SBR's I'm making. Anyway he said his girlfriend (at the time) set him up, she was sleeping with another guy. He said he was sitting at his apartment and this guy walked in, he heard the door and then he remembers being hit and laying on the ground.

Said he had to have his face reconstructed. He was bashed in the face with a pair of brass knuckles, over and over; 68 pieces of titanium in his skull!

Call me paranoid; not that I deal with people like that, but It makes me feel sane when I hear stories like this; and justifies while I always have my gun with me. Even when I am sitting at home!

He told me the surgery was like the movie face off...

Moral of the story, be careful about who you let in your life.

And always keep a gun close.

Meh, I knew a guy who knew a guy who was struck by lightning in Colorado. Even after hearing the story I've been known to go outside during a thunderstorm [panic]

Was the guy charged with attempted murder? I would have pressed charges against her too, if you could find something to charge her with... IDK?

So would using knuckles on a person lead to a tougher charge? Could it show some sort of premeditation or a propensity for violence? To me any claim of self defense would pretty much go out the window, you were not just defending yourself, you meant to do major bodily harm. Or maybe not, I dont know.

Why would a girlfriend set him up, did they steal something? A wife I could see not wanting to go through a divorce, but a girlfriend. I would think they could get her with conspiring or something similar. Would be interesting to hear the whole story.

Depending on the circumstances, it might mean the difference between 3rd degree assault (misdemeanor) and 1st degree Assault (Class 3 felony). Realistically, the charge would be attempted murder, 1 count for each blow they could prove was thrown, although the DA might add on the weapons charges and assault to increase leverage for obtaining a plea deal.

68 pieces? I highly doubt it. Maybe he's brain damaged, but I'm still not buying it.

He must've had really great health insurance. I think he may've confabulated a bit.

Odds are the screws are titanium.

There are just a few metals that are easily implantible. Titanium, stainless steel, cobalt-chrome, and platinum are the ones I know of. There may be a few others but the list is pretty short.

When the break the chest open, they wire it together with platinum wire. When they remove it, request it back. You paid for it and it is perfect for melting down into jewelry.

Exactly! Guess she let him in.... He called the guy a pussy, something about her sleeping with them both. He also said there were two and possible three, knew for sure there were two.
