Hey woodworkers.....

First off, i dont have a router... .that should change today.

Secondly, ill give you my non woodworking option.... sliding door tracks....

I am looking for a router bit that i can run along the bottom of a cabinet and create 2 tracks the length of the cabinet so i can essentially use the router to accomplish the tracks so i dont have to buy these tracks..... plus it looks cleaner. I also need to be able to accomplish this cut by holding the router sideways, as in doing it from the front of the cabinet as opposed to using the router straight up and down, since i have to make it all the way to the edge.

Clear as mud?

I need to know what the cut is called so i can buy the proper bits today..... :help:

but the tracks need to be closer together, and be able to accommodate 1/4" glass

ill have to look, i just picked them up last night and working on a special project..... does the name of the bit differ when working with different woods though?

No, the bit won't make a differance.. it's been awhile and I can't remember the name of the bit off the topp of My brain... Let check for My book... I believe the name of the cut You want to make is called a "rabbit".

As far as the wood goes, OSB is, Shall We say not real router friendly..
It can be done,, Just need to take extra care..

Check with a woodworking tool supply place They might be able to fix You up with the bit You need..

Be forwarned,, Some of those "specialty" bits will severly cut into the gun budget..

its oak plywood. yeah, everything i want is custom so i pay for custom tools.... i just wish i knew what i was talking about before i started a project.... LOL

the side with the holes will be the top, the side facing you will be what i cut out an oblong shape out of and eventually will have tracks (router cut or tacked in plastic variety) for sliding glass doors.

Pretty lil things!! Had a partner in NM that was the regional snake guru for EMS / FD / SAR / ACO. He had an entire section built onto his house just for his snakes. . . I wanna say around 40 or so. Had that place built up like a Hilton for them. . . I think they had it better than he did some times.
