Thank you! for posting this. I heard about it on the radio and completely forgot to look it up. Just reading your title I thought, "Hey, after this video I'm going to look up that high school band covering Tool."
Good work sir.
I liked this one;

I found it on the Cast Boolits forum, someone else posted it. I figgered it would be appreciated here too.
Here's something I think is a pretty cool one too

LOVE acapella stuff.
That was straight up bad ass!!
I loved the instrumentals. A child just can't convey Maynard's thematics, so I'll be the asshole that didn't dig her vocals. But those are some talented kids.
Yeah, she doesn't yet have the maturity to give the song what it really needs, but she did a pretty good job for her age. I also thought the solos helped highlight the individual kid's talents a bit.
Whattya want? She's only 11! I think she sounds great for that age.
There appears to be a LOT of great videos like these by kids, bring 'em in guys! This thread needs to roll! I'm on my phone so it's not as easy as a PC.
Well done by all the kids.
Not really sure if Maynards subject matter is appropiate for an 11 year?
Just spent an houre watching the vids. Very impressive. the one young drummer reminds me of Bun e carlos from cheap trick. Time will tell if the little girl's voice will change and how so but the magic of the net will capture her forever.[Flower]
+1. I'm very impressed.
As. I was listening, I was wondering what puberty would do to her voice - and on into full adulthood. If Mother Nature cooperates, that young lady has an amazing career ahead of her, as does that whole group.
that kid on base guitar can play
I hope this is going to be on KidsBop 26.
Pretty good...........but it needs more COWBELL!
I gotta a fever........ and the only cure is more cowbell.
I posted this on my Facebook, as related to this video:I was in high school when I did my first studio recording with our band. We recorded an LP at a studio in Ohio. I'm not the best bass player in the world, but I know what it takes to be 'good', and it's most of what has been mentioned in this thread. I wish young people wouldn't sell themselves out so quickly and settle for the 'second-rate' status that is held up to them. Young folks can accomplish soooooooooooooooo much more...Quote:
Some of you have seen this, for the rest, be prepared! When my younger bass students ask me how to become a 'great musician', there's always a common theme in my answers: lots of hard work (practice) and devotion! If you want to play like this, put down the smartphone and controller and go to the woodshed...
The kid in the Tool cover vid can drum.
I've always been a fan of Rush and especially Neil Peart. In an interview, Neil said that even he gets giddy when he nails Tom Sawyer. That says a lot about the difficulty of the drum lines. Doing this from my phone so I hope this link works.

Kids that can play Tool...outta this world. Loved it.
Kids that can cover Dream Theater, whoa.
The front men of both bands, Aaron Lewis and Maynard James Keenan, are both big gun guys. I love Tool and Staind, Im gonna have to go youtube that cover now.
PS: No joke, if you want to hear a killer Staind song, listen to the song the did for the Howard Stern show. Written by the ugly little Beetlejuice:

Kayla is the girl that does the vocals, she's the daughter of a friend of friend of mine. She's a pretty talented kid, they all are.
Speaking of kids that shred..

Check out a friend of mine, he has taught himself guitar, bass and drums. Now he mainly concentrates on 7 string guitar and composition. They just released their first album. Search for Abolish the Echelon.
Actually she spells it Kala. My friend lives in Cincinnati so I would guess the school is relatively close. Other then that I don't know anything about the school or teacher. It's his friends (whom I'm not friends with) daughter so I don't know a whole lot about it.
