Not surprising. He does not like what the fame is doing to his family and wants to get back to preaching rather than doing the shows. Kind of interesting that this happens right after Chris Cheng (Top Shot) finally admits he is a homosexual. I'd spend a day hunting and fishing with either one of them. Too bad we have to mix all this junk in with everything now.
Well, no more A&E. that's the only one good show that's worth watching on its app.
Screw a&e! I am now joining the millions boycotting the network, looking at Facebook etc this decision is costing a&e dearly pissing off the main base of its most popular show.

I'm so surprised (not). I have been more surprised to find a show like "Duck Dynasty" on a network like A&E -- I suspect the programmers originally thought it would be a show that would let the self-appointed "intelligentsia" and "elite" laugh at the rubes and rednecks and were surprised by its popularity. A&E has led the way in subtly trying to make homosexuality seem more common and mainstream; I don't have an issue with that but I suspect it has a lot to do with their reaction.
Expensive mistake for A&E.

I'd like to know just how much A&E owns of it. Willie seems to be a pretty sharp businessman and marketer, I wouldn't be surprised if he has more control than A&E. He might just tell them to piss up a rope.

They buy shows, like anyone else. The Producer and talent, for most shows like this, make money per episode and then royalties for re-runs. The channels, like A&E, then sell the advertising to get their coin. Willie is sharp, and the last number I heard, per show, would buy a pretty nice house. While I disagree with the decision I'm tired of FB blowing up saying A&E violated Phil's 1A rights. There are no protections granted to people from a tv network. A&E is not the Federal government and assuming the contract has such provision in it, has the right to conduct business how they want.
They may not have violated them, but they sure as heck censured him for expressing them.
