Ha. Heard them talking to a guy buying Colorado-legal pot yesterday. He said he was "feeling energized and motivated".
I think he bought some defective stuff and should ask for a refund.

You'd be surprised what the different strains do, especially when you are talking to people who don't just smoke a whole bowl and veg.
Yep, Irving is correct, different kinds can do different things, but also different people can experience different highs from the same stand. Some sativas can be the complete opposite of what people think weed does to folks. Still, there are going to be some bad complications from this new law, yesterday saw more out of state people buying than in-state at a couple stores. I'm gonna bet the feds will step in soon, as I anticipate this getting out of hand.

First comment, how many stores did YOU go to? [LOL]
But seriously, is that really such a bad thing? It will bring people to Colorado, who will likely spend money elsewhere as well, boosting the tourism industry. How is it different from people going to Amsterdam and getting stoned for a week on end, then reluctantly going home?
I'm a little torn on the entire thing. I can see how it can honestly be a good thing (increasing tourism, taxes, fast food industry), but at the same time when its legal, more people will smoke it in public, right? I have no desire to smoke weed, and even now that its legal up there, I see no reason to smoke it. But what other people do is not my business, until that smoke starts wafting into my house.
I thought the stores had to see an ID to make sure they were only selling to Colorado residents?
There are already reports of people with family members that suffer from seizures moving here. NPR had a guy in Pueblo who has only been here a few months. He came from Idaho and said he moved here as soon as it was legalized. He basically said it was all about freedom and he moved here to be free. I laughed when they played that part.
Out of state can purchase 1/4oz.
The stores however do not keep track of who buys what. The limit for purchase is only for that store, that transaction.
So really there is no limit.
Jim... No fucking clue.

Heard this morning that sales were about a million bucks yesterday. I didn't know that these were cash only sales ? I'd guess that everyone of these stores are going to have to have some type of armed guards present .
Somehow I quoted myself while trying to edit. Disregard
Back in the days (roughly 20 years ago) when I did smoke occasionally in a far and distant land you mostly bought 1/4 ounce baggies. As a recreational user you would actually use a "one hitter" rather than smoke a "joint". A 1/4 ounce bag will keep a recreational/occasional user supplied for a while. It would takes me weeks just taking an occasional hit to go through a bag. I had friends that could easily go through one in a day though.
How long will a case of beer last? Don't know, do you like to just have an occasional beer after work once or twice a week or do you have 2 for dinner and 2 more before you hit the sack on a daily basis?
Pot is the same.. Do you just want to take a "one hitter" on the occasional day after work when you just want to relax or do you wake up in the morning on a daily basis and smoke an entire bowl before you even hit the shower?
How many joints in a bag? Who knows, how big do you make them? How many bowls in a bag? How big is your bowl and how tight do you pack it? It's 1/4 ounce, could be good clean weed or it could be full of stems and seeds which is mostly filler material.
A 1/4 ounce bag would last me for several weeks but as I said above I knew people that could easily go through one in a day.
BTW, a "one hitter" is a small tube similar in shape and size to a cigarette with a hallowed out end. You chop up your weed and then pack it into the end of the one hitter, this creates a wad of pot that is probably slightly smaller then a pea. You hold a lighter up to it and suck in. Sometimes you can get it all in one drag, sometimes it takes two, depends on how tight you packed it and so on. Maybe you just do one or two of these, that would be enough to get me feeling it and relax a bit. I could never smoke an entire bowl or joint by myself, I would have had to spend the rest of the day on the couch.
More like what are the chances of getting her home after x shots of tequila?
Typically you see about .3 grams in a bowl. Which is good for 5-15 hits depending on the smoker. Vary the size of the bowl and that messes with things. Experienced heavy users will take bigger hits. The potency of the weed determines how high they get. The type of pipe changes how they smoke it. If they smoke it at all. I knew a guy who mixed it with chew.
A 1/4 can last some days or hours expending on usage.
Then there's hash oil. Edibles. Tincture. Butter etc
-what does an ounce of pot look like in terms of physical size? would it fit in a ramen noodle bag? would it fit in a 12oz soda can? I hear the term "ounce" used rather frequently when discussing marijuana but have no idea if that's a garbage bag of the stuff, or if it's a rather small container in terms of size.
Someone needs to change this thread title to "Weed 101" [LOL]
Divide the cost of an Oz [someone said on tv it was $400] in to grams. 28grms = 1oz. Depending how the consumer rolls or bowls it. lg joint to impress at parties, or personal. bowl or bong, 1hitter or share the wealth. Sat the average joint is .2 grams (as an example) that gives 140 joints per oz. that person is paying $1.40 per joint. Since it's now a 7-11 type scenario, the prices will drop to say $250-300 per Z for competition. When the revenue stream / Taxes are counter per quarter, the cities where it is being sold will double their permits. Up here the citizens stormed the castle and voted it out of town, after med mj was ok'd. The town said the 3 (yes 3) lic shops were generating $75K per quarter. Denver will probably see $1 - 2mil the first 1/4 of 2014.
How long will an ounce last?.....not long enough! ;)
Denver will be like Tony Montana.
An oz is an Ounce of weed. Take some oregano or basil toss it on your reloading scale. Zero the scale, add till you come to 28grams / 1oz. Sandwich bag's in the late 60's & 70's was 4 fingers for $20.
No Stems, No Seeds Acapulco Gold is bad ass weed.
1lb can fit in to a 14oz soup can if compressed correctly.
Kilo = 2.2lbs
Cheech & Chong were 45 years ahead of the times.
Listening to KOA yesterday they had interviewed a man in one of the lines who flew from out of state. This man was so happy to inform the reporter that he would be moving to Colorado now. My concern is that this marijuana culture is going to change our political landscape to a San Francisco style one. As for my experience most pot heads are die hard on the left of political spectrum. As a 5th generation native I dont want pot heads here and I am sick of the people moving from other states here who are destroying my beliefs and freedom s.
Was a joke. Think white tigers on the city steps.
Welcome to Colorado....
Personally, those days are long behind me and I'd prefer they stayed there.

Meh, you can no longer buy a gun out of someones trunk, but you can walk into a shop and walk out with a bag o' weed (a bag o weed, a bag o weed, everything is better with a bag o weed... name that tune!). I'd say the wrong people have already moved in from other states and destroyed your beliefs and freedoms. :/
Hooray recreational drug use! [facepalm]
Like I said before:
My Native State-
Suck a bong, your a cool kid.
Suck a dick, your a cool kid.
Suck a bong and a dick, your a waaay cool kid.
Own a firearm you are a heathen scum of the earth.
I loath my native state.
Well the only positive thing I can see is this will lead to national legalization within half a decade. Once the dike starts to break, its hard to hold back. Esp on such an asinine issue as prohibition. It has been a black stain on the conservative movement that they ever supported big government federal prohibition of pot. So the more we settle these dumb issues, the better.
Now hopefully we can get that law passed that allows pot users to buy guns and then start bringing some "never ever fired a gun" to the range to get them hooked. [Beer]
