Doesn't someone on here deliver propane and if so what is the price today?
Most everyone is near or over $4 per gallon. AmeriGas is $5.28 gal in Bailey/Conifer today. Independent Propane is $3.86 and climbing.
Thank you very much saves me from calling around. Got to love running out during a shortage.
I've been hearing prices as high as $7.00. Not sure if that is around here.
Glad I'm on summer fill.
Just called Ferrell gas up north here today and was quoted $5.19 a gallon, ouch! Guess I'll keep feeding dollar bills into the wood stove.
My brother delivers for a coop in southeast Kansas. Last week it was $2.14 now it's $4.39.
Anything special driving the price? Wasn't there a super surplus just 2 years ago?
Most of the surplus was used drying wet crops in late fall. Unusually cold weather further drove up consumption. A supply pipeline somewhere (MN maybe?) is also down and now there's more extremely cold weather driving more demand. That's what I've heard.
All of the companies in our area have sent out letters saying they can no longer honor those capped prices...they usually have a disclaimer that allows them to do that somewhere in the contract.Quote:

DOT has suspended driver hours of service rules in most states to allow drivers more hours to meet demand.
I'm glad I heat with wood. Other than a small cost for chainsaw and splitter fuel, we heat for free. I never pay for firewood as so many people will literally give it away if you're willing to pick it up off there property. There's no more keeping the thermostat at 62 deg in the winter...if we want it 75 in the house when it's 10 below outside, no problem. Throw another log in the stove.
Global warming is driving the prices up-"Al Gore"
Had some delivered yesterday...... $8/gallon!!
The exporting is playing a role.

Glad I have NG for heat/water and I keep a spare full LP tank in case one of the two for my grill or smoker runs out. Seen people get hung out to dry on LP and fuel oil costs for heat in the last few years and I'm waiting for some supply disruption to cause NG to spike so the rest of us get hosed.
Wow, I'm glad my propane tanks are filled. Might cost more to cook a steak on your grill than to eat out
Converted my last grill to NG and bought one already converted this last go round. I BBQ 3-4 times per week. My NG potion of the bill was $48 last month.
Suck it Hank Hill!
We only use propane for cooking and as a backup heat source (which we never use). I keep a 1000 gal tank topped off (less than 75 gals usually) every summer when it's cheap...usually near $1 gal at employee price. But, I like the idea of having 1000 gals that no one can get to, the pipeline can't be cut, nothing will disrupt my supply, etc.
Even though I just have the grill and camper I do keep about 200 gal on hand. the two in the camper are full =60 and over the years picked up 40,30, and 5 20's that I filled. It keeps and doesn't eat. If the power were to go out at least I could cook for awhile.[Flower]
$3.95 at the Brighton coop right now.
$5.00 per gallon here in Cheyenne.
Independent is down to $3.28 today from $3.88 yesterday. Prices should be easing.
So there are some congressmen asking the FTC to investigate the rise in Propane prices. Call me simplistic, but I thought the major increase in demand because of the uncommon cold has caused the increase.
You don't have any congressmen asking the FTC to investigate the rise in ammo prices each time the supply dries up...:what:
2 of our tanks exp date wise. Exchanged them at KS for $19 per .
Bailey Propane down to 3.12
thank God I'm locked in a contract w/MM Coop for $1.85gal...... I'll get screwed next spring...[sheepshagger]
