MOUT facilities aren't new. Here's Camp Pendleton's in CA where I trained in 2001.
As to the indoctrination... well... it pays to be vigilant.
Isn't there also one in KY?
While MOUT cities are nothing new -- the organization and buildings in this city are a little different than the others. This isn't some mud city, or anything from the east. This is modeled after something in the US - down to US style houses and restaurants. With signs in english, american cars on the street, etc.
This.
Not to mention, it's part of TRADOC, and it really isn't that big.

What freeway has a round about and a 90* turn in it? Haha And you guys are worried..
What American city has a goddamn soccer stadium in it?
+2. In 2000 we bused up from Pendleton to do our MOUT training at a closed Air Base in Victorville, using the base housing area. Pretty much a model of any suburban area in America. We were under the impression at the time that it was to simulate what we would encounter in the middle east though.
Soccer?? Was ist soccer??
Tinfoil is a bit to tight....Seems like people are going a bit over paranoid..
Last one I played at was at Ft Indian Town Gap PA.
More like a small town then a city, but sufficient enough for small unit training.
That's cool as hell!
What would be awesome is on downtimes, the army should rent it out for huge paintball or airsoft tourneys.
Isn't there still a housing development out near dia that the local pd's use for training?
I hope that the majority of US soldiers will think for themselves and not blindly follow orders to invade and occupy a US city.
This, and for one thing, most regular soldiers are not told the whole story as well. Yeah, it could be just a benign training place.
But really you are just giving them urban combat skills. The skills could be used anywhere. The commanders are the ones that employ those skills to a particular theater.
That actually looks like a pretty badass training facility. Like it was said before...your tinfoil is too tight.
I call BS anyway; I don't see any furniture in the pics that are published...
Where is the fun of MOUT without having a love-seat dropped on your head from the 2nd floor? [LOL]
Tinfoil. I've trained at the Zussman MOUT facility at Ft Knox, the MUTC in Indiana, the old housing area in Victorville CA, and the Boaz and Hargrove MOUT facilities at Ft Hood. This new MOUT site doesn't sound any different.
I had one of the most fun nights of my military life at AP Hill, and one of the worst.
That's what I said.. lol

Those make great pain ball battle.
Ever wonder if the .mil is going, what the hell are all those civilians prepping for?
What does bother me is the pricetag: $96M.
They could have bought 1/2 of Detroit for that, complete with dilapidated houses, office buildings, factories, churches, etc...[Beer]
Here is the larger of the MOUT sites at Fort Carson. Trained there quite a bit.

Has several multi story buildings, houses, etc. Not sure it is too suspicious though.
Looks like east of Springs... EVERYBODY [panic]
No worries blacklabel I know what you mean.
Do we still have the invasion plans for Canada? Someone needs to pay for Obamacare.
