that's a pricey fill up
I saw it earlier today and agree. Very nice rig.
Same one?

That's a pretty badass expedition rig.
It does have a lot of dodads on it. Is that swing away "thing", in the rear, plastic? Wonder how many hits the sliders will take. Not much protection underneath.
Those tires are FAT. The seats look comfy, but you're right... there is almost no undercarriage protection.
No this is what makes your pants tight Chris.

Should have waited on buying my Tundra I guess....
I like the overall look of the conversion but you are right the FAT tires will only be good in the mud and the heavy deep snow, Not so great on Rocks and other terrain. Those big tires will be nothing but "Bounce" offroad here, you dont need bounce and on a 10 degree off camber trail over rocks.
Which may explain the no undercarriage armor, not needed with snow so much. Maybe why it is the POLAR conversion.
Wonder what it would look like with less "fat" tires?
My silverado would make that trip with some extra gas cans in the back
Blech. It's an auto.
Oh!
My heart just went pittypat. I like it!
...and I want a donut now.
I guess that's a militarized looking version of the Toyota Hilux used by the Top Gear gang's Polar Expedition.

On second though, it's cool but not $72k+ cool.
i used to build some pretty custom jeeps, coil to leaf and leaf to coil conversions, built fuel injected cjs, etc. if i had ever had a 72K budget it would not have been that rig. the independent suspension has very limited travel, tires are all wrong for a rig that would go most anywhere, easy enough to build a rig that would rock climb and float over snow.
the top gear guys used a rig that they have building (the hilux) in iceland for decades, there is a company there that sepcializes in those specifically, 4x4 offroad mag highlited them 15 years ago. the top gear guys were way late to the party on that one. this 72K snow machine is just a ripoof of that platform. nothing invative from what i can see.
When I think Polar Expedition in a Toyota Hilux, I think ...
