rebuilding front suspension on my '64 Chevy C10 pickup. When that is done it is time to put the engine back in and swap the tranny to a 700R4...ugh.
I am a ways from setting a motor. Looking for a decent 351W for it with a C6 tranny. Ordered the straight axle kit this week. I am going to get all the suspension set up first, then adjust it from there. I will post some shots when I get it on all 4 again.
I think I have a 351m/c6. Came from a 1988 van I think.

Do stalled projects count? I'm restoring a 1956 Willys CJ5 Jeep, and rebuilding my '82 Harley FLT into a Road King clone. Both projects are kinda stalled since I'm unemployed and broke, and the wife had this hardon about parking in the garage over the winter.
I have a 67 chevelle in the garage that I started working on 7 years ago. Picked up some other hobbies and haven't touched it in 6. Someday I will get back to it.
Wish I had the time and space for a car project. Guess I'll have to live vicariously through you guys for now.
Looking forward to seeing some pictures of that gasser. Are you shortening the wheelbase and bringing the rear axle and wheel wells forward?
I've got a 71 Chevy C/10 in storage. Its my first truck. It'll be chopped to a SWB, have an LSx and T56 transplant someday.
Well....i just bought a 2010 land rover and i am sure the restoration project will start quickly and be expensive... does that count? [Sarcasm2]
You know the best part of working on a land rover for a shop? I can do everything right and fix the problem that it came in for and the driver will be driving away and the dash will light up for something new. It is great.Quote:

Waiting on my hot side to get back from coating for my twin turbo 2012 Mustang. Then I need it tuned, a driveshaft, wheels, and some suspension parts so it can at least try to not spin the tires.

Who blasted it and what kind of a cost is involved?(if I may ask) I have toyed with getting the Jeep tub blasted or dipped before I even think of doing any sheet metal work.Quote:

My project was an 89 Suburban. I put on a 4" lift it, 33x12.5 tires, posi tractin, 4.56 gears, rebuilt the engine - low high rise, cam, bored out, installed a hot rod transmission built by Monster transmission. It was red with a cream stripe, camel color interior. I had invested a ton of money and time. It was stolen 4 weeks ago. Police caught the guy when he tried to scrap it at Western Scrap iron. When I went to see it at the impound lot I walked right by it! The thief had repainted it black and white and destroyed the interior. I'm fighting the insurance co now. I have receipts for over 17k and they say the value is 3k! I HATE THIEVES!!

Its been awhile since I had a cool project. I lost my '68 Firebird 400 in a custody case a few years back; needed the money. It was tubbed with a 9", built RA III 400, and a Turbo 400 tranny.
Current Projects:
K5s ('76 & '77); one is a streetable trail rig and one will be more of a buggy. I have the axles sitting by the garage for the trail rig collecting rust so I need to get busy on it. Hopefully, I have time this fall and winter to work on it for next summer. Right now I hit the trails with my lifted Suburban that I use for plowing. It is way too damn big.
'79 WS6 T/A w/ 40,000 miles. I got this in high school in '89. It doesn't need much but I need to do the headers and exhaust. I also want to replace the smog cam with something a lot more aggressive.
I am selling my '97 Trans Am and '01 Yukon so I need to do some minor body work on them to get them sold. My Yukon was hit by the county plow, which dented the hood and broke the grill. I put an aftermarket Ram Air hood on the T/A 12 years ago, and I didn't have time to fit it back then so I get to do it now. The T/A also needs a clutch and the headlight gears replaced. I put a SPEC clutch in it when I did the 4.11s; what a piece of crap. I should have spent the money and went with the Centerforce.

Blew the 350 in the crew cab last summer, finally getting around to getting the new motor in. 2 weekends ago I got the motor and tranny mounted, headers figured out, now it's time to plumb, wire, get the front clip back on, install new fuel cell, ect, ect, ect... We were able to get the new motor a few inches lower, and a few inches further back as well.
The plan is to have it running for a test run to Goodguys the first week in June, then we're going to head to the back to the 50's show in Minnesota at the end of June.
New motor is a 6.0 LSX that been cranked up a bit, mated to a 4l80e. Next winters project will be turbo charging it. my goal is 500-600hp on the ground.

2012 WR450F, getting it set up for a title then adding a supermoto setup for riding around Denver and to work. Needs headlight hi/low and horn switch, a horn, and pressure break light switch.

I'll throw in a X2 for Blast Tech also. That's what they specialize in, automotive sheet metal and frames. They'll do it right without fawking it up.
Ya know, I watch Overhaulin' and all those other shows where they go after project cars and bikes with a team of specialists, free parts, and unlimited cash, and turn out awesomeness in a very short time. Kinda discouraging to us po' boy unwashed shadetree wrenches trying to do it alone over several years.....
I hope to wrench on the ole' 50 Willys Wagon some this summer.
New springs front & rear, maybe upgrade the brake system.
Just get it more road worthy.

Haha, thanks lucked out when I found that matched pair. Had to argue with the DMV and 4 levels of supervisors to be allowed to run it. The law states that you can run year of manufacture plates, bad thing is my truck is a 1961 one of 2 years in history that Colorado didn't actually make plates, they just issued stickers for the year that you put onto your 1960 plate, if you look close you can see my plate is correct.Quote:
