I will have to try this!
I so want in n out to open here
Over rated ! Seriously, I am baffled about the in n out hype. Its a fast food burger. Nothing special.
You're in The Springs - tried Drifters? https://www.google.com/search?site=&....3._bsgUqa4hes
Haters gonna hate.
Smashburger and 5 Guys are twice the price if not more. Good burgers but I'd rather have In-N-Out.
My uncle manages a store. They will likely come here but not for a while still.
I did try in n out when I lived in CA: not that good and definitively a "California hyped" product.... 5 guys is far better.
Make sure to get you fries animal style!
Burgers are totally subjective to the tastes of the individuals. Kinda like chili. My all-time slap-yo-grandma favorite burgers come from dive bars and local burger joints in my hometown area in OK. Can't get those here though, so I tend to stick with Sonic and Wendy's. Ain't gourmet but it'll make a turd.
Are they the best burger no. Are the the best in the 3-4 dollar range - yes. If take an In N out over mcdonalds, Burger King, etc any day. I don't like 5 guys. Too greasy. And like rondog said - all subjective.
I had them once 5 years ago in California... ehhh. Over-hyped like Wataburger is in Texas and White Castle is in the Northeast. Not a bad burger just not a standout IMHO.
I agree with all of you that think in n out is overrated!!!!!! That place is for the Scientology type of people... They can't even make fries right.
Wasn't there a thread about this a few months ago................. And no I'm not going to do a search to link it.
Oh RePost Police, where are you..............[LOL]
When I ever have to go to CA I will always go to In & Out for a Double Double and fries. I have not found a burger in CO that is as good but then again, I don't really go out for burgers much anymore anyway. And I ain't gonna spend $10+ on a burger to find one as good as In & Out.
If I am out in the valley north of LA I will visit Tommy Burger for their Chili Cheese burger. Only the one near the Budweiser Brewery makes them right, the spin-offs just don't get it right for some reason.
Fat Burger over In N Out anyday
Tho I think there is one in the denver metro now .. I never make it there. Fat burger is my California treat.
There is a Fatburger in Aurora NE of I225 / Alameda.
I like Fatburger better than In'n'Out as well. And Five Guys is a different style but still better than In'n'Out.
I used to like Johnny Rockets better too (went to one in Van Nuys for many years) but they have gone downhill IMO.
My wife raves about Tommy's, I've never had it, but we are road tripping to California in July, and she's put it on the list of things to try.
As far as In n out, VERY tasty, but completely over hyped. If folks would call it as it really is, there wouldn't be as much "hatin"
It's all fast food and In & Out is a step above is all I'm sayin'. Don't let that Tommy's chili get on your cloths, the stain is hard to get out. And, when you go to Tommy's, don't stand there asking a bunch of questions, just order a cheeseburger with or without onions, don't make them ask you. Step up and order and move on. It ain't no have it your way kind of place. I have seen the guys behind the counter just ignore someone that is ordering like in a restaurant or asking too many questions and take the order of the person next in line. Funny as heck to watch when it happens.
Just had this week's cheat meal at 5 Guys today. I'm not losing any sleep over In N Out.
Looks good.
Freddy's California style is close, had one today.
Stopped in at an I&O my last trip through LA. Meh. Wouldn't bother going again.
There are far better (non fast food) options out there.
Guess I'm a sucker for it. Ate there 3 times last visit to CA, and I was I only there less than 2 days.
I don't view as as the same as smash or 5 guys but rather a McD or Wendy alternative. If I need fast burger to go I'd take In and Out any day.
+1 for Drifters. Love that place. Better than In-n-Out.
Another place that I miss is Tommy's Burgers. I love that chili on a burger covered in cheese.
Of course in n out is "sub-par" when compared to a $10-14 burger from a sit down restaurant.. It's fast food and all of there stuff is fresh. McD's Wendy's etc don't hold a candle to In n Out. I lived in Cali for a year and sometimes I wouldn't mind getting 2 double doubles with fries if I'm in a hurry and want someone fresh and delicious.
Sucks that Red Top closed all of its locations down in the Springs. I loved that place. Drifters is also a frequent choice for me...for those that don't know Drifters was formally called Classics down on Flintridge and Academy. One day all of his employees looted his store and left him hanging. He had to close down and after a few years he was able to regroup and open Drifters. Great burgers!
That being said, In-N-Out is in a league of its own compared to fast food burgers for my family. You can taste the freshness in the fries and the burgers compared to any other chain around. My parents live in Dallas and whenever we visit we hit the In-N-Out pretty hard!
Yeah, I&O is better than Rotten Ronnie's burgers, but I just don't even place it any better than Culver's or Steak and Shake or Freddy's. I did stop at S&S for a triple steak burger and cheese fries yesterday on my way home from work. [Lick]
I don't ever find myself wanting a In-n-Out burger, but I sure would love to have a Whataburger.
I had Whattaburgers in Texas a few times, wasn't impressed. Too dry and basic to me, just a big flat cheeseburger with no taste.
Seems that people from Oklahoma have more experiences with burgers having grilled onions on them, which I absolutely love! I grew up eating cheeseburgers with grilled onions and will always order that if available. Even better is if the onions are sliced thin and mixed in the meat. Oh damnnnn.....
