Looking for a good hard case, min would be 50 inches or so and probably 3-15 tall. What are you guys using for your long guns with big scopes. Thanks

Pelican 1700 and 1750 are the goto if you have money into what you are shooting IMO. Go cheap and you will pay anyways.
Pelican cases are worth every penny.
Storm case with wheels.
Pelican or a company with the same or higher quality!
I've got a guide series case from Gander mountain for just kicking around the truck, If I need to fly, I have an SKB that's lockable many times over and has wheels on one end. I'd recommend the SKB, Pelican, or Storm if you expect either weather or flying with it.
If you are doing any traveling I recommend the SKB, or pelican. I haven't flown with my Pelican but my four gun SKB is headed back to Alaska for the third time this fall and it has accompanied my dad to Africa as well as a few other destinations. Everything inside always arrives just as I packed it.
I just got my pelican 1750 a couple weeks ago from eBay for around $200 shipped. It's worth every penny already! Has proven to keep my firearms dry, safe and shooting straight after taking them camping on some pretty rough trails through the rain.
I just got my Pelican 1750 on Tuesday, haven't really had much time to play with it but it is just like every other Pelican case I've owned or used, extremely sturdy, solid latches, waterproof and a great deal if you have good money invested. I purchased some closed cell polyethylene foam from foambymail.com (this stuff: http://www.foambymail.com/PE2-_1/pol...ets-2-2lb.html in 1" and 2" charcoal) and plan to replace the factory open cell foam that retains moisture with it. The PE foam is more expensive, but its also more rigid and really holds its shape well when you cut thin walls (unlike open cell foam that flexes and warps and looks cheap).
Thanks for that link BC. I need some for my pistol case.
No problem, they are the cheapest place and most highly recommended that I found. If you purchase more than $75 worth of foam, it ships free. Granted, they ship a little slow, taking 3-5 days to process then just ship via UPS Ground, but its still cheaper than other places and definitely cheaper than buying the Pelican Branded replacement foam set.
Yes, good find on the foam.
oddly, I'd say go with a soft case- The lightest one you can that has padding. Most modern precision guns had military designed gear as their immediate parentage - the more money you spent the tougher the SOB should be. I have two pelican 1750's I never use - I either sling the rifle or soft case it in a nice soft case.
I like my pelican because I can pack a lot of crap in it and it has wheels so it's all easy to move around. And as others have said...it's tough as nails.
Boyt ftw
Long live grossly over-stuffing a Pelican for air travel!

Never buy a hard case without wheels.
Plano a nice alternative to Pelican.

This was a cool system. Soft case designed to fit in a hard case.

Agreed on the pelican, just set my DTA up in a 1720, works great.
I have seen storm cases hold up the best compared to pelican for equipment at work. Generally latches fail first after being shipped dozens of times.
For personal use, I decided on a Pelican 1720 for flying. The 1750 is quite large to drag around and I was able to fit everything I wanted in the 1720 with about 1/2" to spare. Measure carefully if buying to fit a specific size firearm.
