It's about time to get the 40k service done.
Does anyone have the parts list for this?
what inspections are supposed to occur for this?
how likely is it that a reasonably intelligent human can accomplish this in an afternoon in their own garage?
The dealer is telling me that it'll be about $550, and he won't tell me what services are being done. What a jerk!

Do you have a dsg transmission?
Looks a fuel filter oil change and cabin air filter shouldn't be terribly hard do a search and check the tdi forums out.

Likewise. The Nissan dealer , as with most places, tries to up sell an air filter, Every time I'm in for service. Had 3 comp LOF . 3rd one I ask the writer if he and the svc mgmt could meet me at vehicle. Few minutes later I ask them if we could look at the dirty filter. BUT before that, as I go to rear of vehicle, could they explain how in 12k my filter needs replacement. Yet the rear wiper has been torn, missing a section of rubber, yet never needs to be replaced? Mine is a manual transmission.
The dealer told me its about $120 in parts and $420 in labor. Still no break-down on what gets what servicing, though.
