What's all this fluffy stuff you guys are referring to? Must be some sort of Yankee dish or something.
Burger and fries.....that sat under a heat lamp for over an hour. [Roll1] The only saving grace was a frosty Sierra Nevada IPA.
Its a sandwich, made primarily for the anglo middle class who enjoy finer things in life. Especially when a grape JAM is unavailable and refuse to slum it with grape jelly.
In layman's terms it's for people who want something nutritious, yet will not stoop as low as doritos or cheetos for food supplement.

Got some of my wife's family from KC in town so it's stuff on the smoker:
6 racks of St Louis style spare ribs
pot of baked beans using some of the rib rub and sauce
corn on the cob
potato salad
watermelon
veggie platter
2 key lime pies from Granny Scott's
I would make grape jam, but the grapes in my yard have seeds, so I gotta strain the juice out of them and make jelly :-(
Elk steaks, twice baked potatoes, bacon salad, broccoli and cheese, brownies
Making chili!
We walked downtown to Illegal Pete's - wife and I are both getting over a bug and too tired to cook anything at home (amazing how many people were downtown rather than around a grill at home today).
Just finished a NY Strip steak, sliced tomato, and cottage cheese. With a beer chaser. [Dinner]
That is what I am thinking. I was always big on "Garbage" find a meat, find a starch, throw in some veggies and dinner for 5 kids. Over, in and mixed. They now want to know how to make it [LOL]since they seemed to have such fond memories. [Flower] If they only knew.....
Hot dog stew (this is depression food so pretty much whatever you have on hand to doctor it up:
1-2 qts water (or chicken stock)
1-2 packs of slicedhot dogs (all beef is not preferred)
couple handfuls of sliced carrots
couple handfuls of diced potatoes
salt/pepper to taste
barley
corn starch for thickening
simmer until potatoes/carrots are tender
I have never heard of fluffernutter or hot dog stew. Not sure if that is a good or bad thing.
Never done hot dog stew myself, but if you've never had a fluffernutter, I must say that you're certainly missing out. Not exactly "high cuisine at it's finest", but certainly a right of passage food for youth. Go buy some Fluff & make some.
Last night the Ginsue clan had St. Louis style smoked spare ribs, grilled Kris' chicken (daughter doesn't like pork) , green beans, baked beans, pasta salad, baked potatoes (lots of carbs, but it was more of a "select the one(s) you want"), and "one-minute chocolate cake in a mug" topped with vanilla bean ice cream.
Smoking an 8# brisket tomorrow
Can't think of Fluff without thinking of...

Have to give it a try though.
