I'm sure it's pretty much common knowledge around here, but if you haven't got the memo: Mamma bear never takes too kindly to harassing her offspring, and she's usually within earshot at all times.

Letting the dog continue charging the cub wasn't the smartest thing to do. Where there is a cub there is a Mamma.
This reminds me of watching the tourons at RMNP. They will walk right up to a calf and start taking pics. [Shake]

I came across a black bear cub, driving home on evening. It was in the middle of the road, so I had to stop. First thing I did was roll the windows up and scan the forest for Momma bear. Sure enough, she was coming down a hill next to the road, fast. All of the sudden that piece of door glass didn't seem very secure. Scooted on by the cub and saw Momma bear hit the road in my rear view mirror.
