Got a new miller plasma but I can't get it to work

I just traded a forum member here for a NIB Spectrum 2050. I would contact him but he left for training in Cali and I don't think he will be reachable for about a month.

I am having problems getting it to do anything. I can get the Power and Ready lights to light up, and can force the error lights with pressure and cup. But when I try to do anything else it just doesnt arc. Its odd because there is no hum, fan or anything else that would show the machine was on. Any ideas? I will admin that I am a total noob to this so i'm hoping i'm just doing something stupid. Here are some pictures.

Also I have turned the psi down to 70 and checked the consumables.

Could be a stupid question on my part, but what type of material are you attempting to cut?

Just simple mild steel. It's a tiny piece of angle iron. Even sanded the rust off to make a good ground.

Hmm. Sorry, I have no idea. I've used a couple of different plasma cutters and don't remember there being anything tricky or unusual.

There red isn't some sort of resettable circuit breaker on it somewhere, is there? Maybe it tripped.

Check to see how the line disconnect device is wired. It can be wired for either single or three phase power. If it is wired for three phase and you only have single phase running to it, all of your lights will turn on but it will not operate. And don't take the fan not running as any sign, it only turns on on this machine when it is hot enough to need it.

Would this help? Only issues i've had were due to bad ground, doesn't sound like that's your problem. There's always miller tech support

Difficulty establishing pilot arc may indicate consumables need to be cleaned or replaced.

Power must be reset whenever the cup shutdown system is activated.

So I think I have it wired up wrong. Here I think I need to move the white wire (Grey in picture) to the spot the red wire is in and tape off the red. Do I have my box set up right? This is a horrible drawing and I can take pictures when I get home.

Yes they do, but they reference blue and brown wires that I do not have.

Looks like you will need to trace the wires inside the machine; find out what you are dealing with before switching stuff around.

This, ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^, definitely confirm what conductor is connected to what before switching things around at the disconnect.

Miller support contacted me. They explained my mistake in wiring and I got it up and running. Thanks everyone.

Got to love the toll free CSR line. You print out the owners manual? There's always something you tend to overlook or forget when you don't use said machine for some time. Now go cut some steel. I have one from cyberweld that does 3/8 pretty easy. What ever you do. DO NOT sell your chop and or band saw.

Check out the dewalt porta band saw with a Swag stand. Since I bought this I havent used my chop saw once. Wish I bought it years ago. Plus you'll find uses for a portable bandsaw.

I'm on the hunt for one of them or a millwaukee porta saw. Not only is portable nice, it's so much easier to store than a band saw.
