Their new CCW piece is interesting ... wonder if this concept will be applicable to larger calibers.

That's going to need a better curve for some of the members here..
Can't wait for Salient to start offering customized bent Glocks. [Sarcasm2]
I want one that shoots curved bullets, like in the movie Wanted! [Coffee]
Kinda like this?

Well my two questions are:
1) are the magazines curved?
2) just how bad is the trigger (I bet its like a COP357 or some other 15-20lb DAO)
The i1911 redefines the defense pistol by employing the powerful .380 Auto cartridge for excellent power and minimal recoil. It uses MIM parts to reduce weight, and has a 25 pound pull for long-lasting and smooth operation. It's available at your local Apple store beginning at just $7,499. Upgrade to the i1911 Plus, and you'll get 7 rounds of the even more powerful 9mm for just $7,999.
In for answers.
All those out there that bought a Judge will probably want one of these.
If you put it in the oven the other way it will straighten out.....
Wonder how it will mentally affect some peoples' aim as hey hold it with a cant to try and subconsciously align the curve....
The Judge was silly, this actually makes sense (as much sense as any other subcompact .380)
Done a bit more research.
Magazines are straight with a funky curved baseplate.

And it's a Locked-Breech and not a Blowback action, so it should be softer recoiling and easier to rack.
The T&E guns are reviewing well and the MSRP is going to be $392 (so expect the street price to be in the $350-370 range ... not bad for a gun with a laser and light).
sorry, but it reminds me of The Homer:

or the real life version:

It looks like most of the "curve" is on the inside, which doesn't help conceal much. It's probably one of those things where the difference doesn't seem like much until you hold/wear it in person.
That Taurus looks like it will have one useful purpose. Little kids prolly won't get into trouble if they draw it or bite a pop tart in that shape!
I'm sure that will work well for left handed shooting...
No matter how you bend it, it's still a Taurus.
According to Taurus' website, the gun was built around being able to carry, not to shoot. Great thinking there [sarcasm]. Let's design something not for its primary purpose but for convenience. How about Toyota making an L-shaped truck that fits in my garage around my workbench? If they do make right and left curve models, the mags won't be interchangeable due to the baseplates.
Great thinking outside the norms but bad application. Integrated light and laser was imminent. I'm suprised it hadn't been released already.
I've read a handful of reviews and for the most part they are positive when it comes to shooting (trigger doesn't suck and its a locked breech action so recoil isn't all that bad).
Looking at the pics it almost looks like you could flip the baseplate around and it would work. But that is yet to be seen.Quote:

Overall I think the idea is a solid one (especially from a marketing standpoint) but as others have said its still a Taurus so there's that.
Taurus blows. They make a revolver with a curved grip too.
Backup curved around ones ankle? That way it is hidden because that is one fugly piece of tupperware. It may work or it may not but......[Shock][Whacko][Puke]
They had already started doing the "Curve" on some snub nosed 38's in a limited run a while ago. The one I'm referencing has a clear side to view the mechanics of the revolver. I'm still not impressed.
Correct me if I'm wrong but if all the internal parts are still straight (have to be for that mag to function) then isn't the 'curve' really just a thicker body to create a curve and in which case wouldn't this actually be adding material to what is otherwise a much more slim but flat version? So added weight and thickness to a CCW piece? Sounds like snake oil more than anything but I'm sure in a world where marketing trumps all actual benefits (see RIP ammo for proof) it will sell well.
OMG thanks for this. I lol'd
That's not my point and I'm not sure I'm explaining myself properly. Look at the thickness of the slide in relation to the barrel for instance and now compare that to the thickness of the pistol on either side of the barrel to similar firearms in the class. If the magazine is straight then that means that in order to get the curve they have to add material that otherwise wouldn't be there. It seems that unless the magazine were also curved you are just taking what would be the standard internal plane and just adding more material to the outside to get the curve. So your lines should extend down on either side of the barrel to show where the magazine and fire control group is and then everything on the outside is essentially not critical to the firearm aside from some degree of strength. If more is added than say what an XDs or Shield has then that's added thickness overall and weight even if it does curve. It's still excess. Does that make sense?
What we men need is one shaped like a dick and when carried appendix style no one would know that you have a "gun." Shit most would probably look away in fear of being call gay.
The big question: "Does this make my ass look big?"
