Anyone read Bernard Cornwell's Warrior Chronicles? Historical fiction by the same author as the Sharpe series but these are set in the war for England between the Saxons and the Danes around the time of Alfred the Great.

Yes, I just read the latest one, The Empty Throne. I like them a lot. I thought the plots in the Sharpe series started getting a bit repetitive, but the Warrior Chronicles don't seem to suffer from that.Quote:

All of Cornwell's books have the same formula and they all rely on the same type of protagonist to lead you through the historical events Cornwell wants to describe.
