So I went and purchased a HMMWV and I'm looking to source parts. I would love to find places locally to save on shipping. Anyone know good Mil Surplus places?
Soft doors, hard doors, seats, soft tops, etc.

Did you purchase a commercial one they used to sell years ago or is it real surplus? Can't say I've seen anywhere that sells HMMVV parts in any kind of quantity. There are some forums online for owners that have some resources for this stuff.
Thinking about getting one of these as well. Did you get a 4 door or 2 door? 6.5 or 6.2L?
been my dream vehicle my whole life and this is the most affordable option
Also interested in how you are doing getting a title. At first they were off road only but I think now they are allowing them to be titled.
M998 is a specific type. I can give you a grid to where I dumped a bunch of armored doors & glass off a few but flying them back 3000 miles might be a pain.
Check out steelsoldiers.com if you haven't already. I don't know of any place locally for hmmvv parts especially remember these things for the most part where just released to the public I don't think a lot are ending up in parts yards yet.
I've joined steel soldiers as of this week.
I'm waiting on my EUC Form to clear, which I've been told takes 10 days to 10 weeks.
Once that clears I'll have it shipped from NC.
It's currently set up as a 2 door. But I'm wanting to source parts to get it 4 door. Not really going for a replica or a purist build. Just want it functional for me.

Very sweet, how much did she set you back? what is your plan for it?
Awesome
I won the Auction for 7000, and shipping will run me about 1200.
The plan so far is to get it set up for 4 doors and a soft top and primarily use it as a camping/hunting rig and drive it on nice days occasionally.
Probably leave it as 24v, but may change it to 12.
Definitely going to get different wheels and radial tires down the road.
This one has no headlights, which I have already got squared up through a friend of mine who works for Truck-Lite. Just need mirrors to get it streetable.
The engine, according the the auction inspector, runs very strong, only has 2100 miles and the transmission still shifts great. But, sight unseen auction and all...
Dang that is awesome. I've only been looking at the 4 door ones but maybe your route is a little better cost wise. Any idea what an estimate to convert it over might be?
I found a guy on ebay selling 4 soft doors, the soft top minus the rear curtain and the C pillar included, for 1000.
Seat wise, I can find them for 50-200 per seat, depending on condition. Realistically, I am going to modify it to use Jeep seats, or some other aftermarket, off road / weather rated seats, since I'm not building a replica.
Dude you can not legally register that hmmvv for street use. I really hope your not going to try to they where sold off road only.. But more power to you if can get it done.

There was an article last week announcing you can get them for street use.
Damn. I wonder if I could turn converting these to street legal into a side business?
Just an update, waiting for paperwork to clear on a military vehicle purchase is about the same time frame as a Form 1 / Form 4.
Oh wow, so payment up front I assume then wait for it all to clear?
I've read that you have to file documents that essentially state that you are not a buyer that is going to ship the vehicle out of the country to a foreign government and then they do a background check in regards to that.
