Got it set up to record. Should give me a zombie fix until the Walking Dead comes back on.
I think I'm pretty much zombied-out.
I agree, it's probably an alright consolation while we wait for the real series to return... I'm looking forward to the premiere, but haven't set up a series recording for it yet. If the first couple of episodes are good, i'm sure I will... but I'm planning to be home Sunday evening to watch it.
I just caught a trailer for it. It looks pretty damn good actually.
It will be weird to see the zombies looking very human like since the apocalypse is just beginning.
Supposed to be the same event. I believe it's supposed to kind of show how the whole thing got started.
I just read an online review and they said they are going to take some time building the story. They made it sound like the first couple of episodes show everyone reacting as if its a traditional pandemic (if there is such a thing), like a new flu strain. If they do it right, it could be pretty cool to see a relatively normal survival/protection scenario turn into a nightmare.
My guess is that it's going to start out MUCH slower than the previews make it seem. They need to slowly build the story-line or risk running parallel to The Walking Dead very quickly and then it's just two versions of the same show. The previews seem intense and that's how they land their audience but don't be surprised if what you've seen actually takes the whole season of episodes to reach. For those that don't recall, the first season of The Walking Dead was painfully slow but built up nicely and there were already zombies. This is the story BEFORE there were zombies so I'm going into it expecting a lot more slow build over several episodes but I think that, if done properly, this actually has the potential to be more interesting than The Walking Dead was in the first season or two. The sheer unknown being played out in characters they build could lead to some intense scenes of ignorance and stumbling into dire situations that you and I may already know about but think of how people would actually react to a zombie outbreak before it was a full on epidemic. There would be a LOT of denial and skepticism and that's after the initial wave of unknown. I'm excited for this and I like how things look just based on the brief previews I've seen. Buckle up, this ride could get interesting. Just don't expect an explosion of excitement the first episode or two.
It follows the time line (or close to) when Rick was in the hospital. I know the pop. up here is 275K ish, surrounding areas included. I couldn't imagine having to get out of town after week 2, in a place like L.A.

I'm looking forward to checking out the new series.
What I hope, is.............that if the new spin off is really good, that it doesn't hurt ratings for the original series. If that makes any sense. I like the Dead series, not sure if introducing a new aspect series is the best idea for the number one show on TV for the last several years? Dunno.
I don't see it taking anything away from the current series and, in fact, I see it helping the ratings if anything. Think of how many people never watched it because they missed the first season or two (or episode or two for some) but catch this one from the jump because of the marketing push and it motivates them to catch up on the other series once the zombie bug bites? I don't see this doing anything but helping really.
Interesting point, Jer.
I guess bottom line, is that both series do well, but I don't want to see problems occur with the original series because of it.....just sayin'.
36 hrs.
Oh Hell Yeah !.
NO SPOILER ALERTS YET , PLEASE. Give it 20 min ;)
I'm pretty sure it recorded. Probably watch it in a bit.
Can we see some freaking zombies already.
First 45 minutes had me thinking of changing channels.....then it got better.
I'm gonna give it a chance and see what they do with it.
Have never seen one full episode of TWD. I think I tried watching and was turned off by the horrid special (gun) effects. I think Dish was also fighting with them season 1 or 2 so that never panned out for me.
Did record and watch this. It was slow in the beginning but I was slightly intrigued. I will setup the series for record and see how it pans out. Since True Blood is off the air, I have a spot open on my DVR watch calendar. Not sure I can tolerate the commercial breaks though even with the DVR.
Is it realistic to not watch Walking Dead for a few bad gun scenes (that get way better as the series goes on), but then also watch True Blood? :p
Not bad. My only question. Why are the zombies eyes blue?
Can't go wrong with titties...just sayin'.
