Chiefs - 22, Donkeys - 0, end of the third Qtr......................
I hope this is Mannings last year. Father time looks like it hit him big time this year.
I'm glad to see that Kubiak finally decided to pull Manning.
Chicken parm you broke my arm.
Sing it.
............wow..........
Now Chiefs 29, Donkeys ZIP !
And what's up with Manning ? Is he so ashamed that he won't show his face, by not taking his helmet off while he is side lined ?
Looks like Ronda Rousey started at QB.
Time for the glue factory.
went to the game--first time in a long dang time i left before the end. i honestly thought it was going to be a shutout, but was encouraged by Osweiler's play
Peyton looked horrible at the end of last year, and for the most part has been horrible most of this year. He threw 4 picks today, and leads the league in that crappy category. While I want to give him the benefit of the doubt I'm thinking this is the last season. Can't be any other way if he continues to play at the same low level.
Trying to buy one is right. Elway and the franchise are really itching for a Superbowl win.
My personal opinion is that Elway and Kubiak both being quarterbacks have compromised their interest over a quarterback's legacy rather than the best interests of the team.
Rousey v Holm would be a better thread.[Coffee]
I think Osweiler is going to be a really good QB.
Two of the best people in the business to learn from.......Elway and Manning.
Kodiak wasn't much of a QB in my opinion.....kinda wondering about his coaching now too. :)
I drafted Manning 1st round, 1st pick in my fantasy league and I want him gone.
Really the only reason the Broncos got as far as they have this season on the backs of their Defense. Manning has been worthless, and it seems like they've been keeping him in just so he could get that stupid record, at great detriment to the team.
The Broncos woes can't all be laid at the feet of Manning, the entire offense has been abysmal. A porous O-line, ZERO run game, TE's that can't catch and only one receiver playing consistently good ball (Sanders).
It is just a game, remember that folks.
But yes, Manning played one good game this year. Only thing bad about Brock Osweiler is he has the same initials as Obummer. :) I do think he is going to be a great quarterback. This week we will see if we have Donkey's or Broncos for the rest of the season. If Kubiak and Manning can now invest into Brock and get him a little game experience and polish, the year might be salvageable. Play Manning in some situations that are tailor made.
When that happens, I think you will see the offense perk up, gain confidence and become a force to reckon with.
Tebow is available. [ROFL3]
Manning's got a torn plantar fascia. This might be his career. Expect Osweiller to get the start against the Bears, and Peyton might be back for a playoff run. Nothing is certain at this point about him moving forward.
Osweiller's a far better fit for Kubiak's system anyway. If Kubes is staying, the Brock era is on. If they're smart, they'll use Hillman to stretch the outside and the B gap work, and use CJ on the A gap and power formations. Play action from there. Let Sanders play underneath and have DT occupy the safety. Two tight end sets would also be a good way to work the seam.
I don't want to see anyone injured, but that is great news for the Broncos. If Brock can carry the team to the SuperBowl, maybe Manning can get up for one more hurrah and share it with the understudy.
The inability of the offense to keep the ball has hurt the defense big time. No defense can play as much as those guys have been on the field and still maintain the same level of performance.
Glad to hear Kubs taking the blame. He made a terrible choice yesterday. I love Manning, but his time was over year before last, IMO. What a horrible to end an amazing career.
I think the Broncos have a great roster otherwise and i expect big things from them with a fresh QB.
Ever since they bought Manning I've been bitching about what they paid for him, and how they apparently couldn't afford to hold on to Tebow, who was costing ~10% of that.
Yes, seriously. We'll never really know but objectively it doesn't look like the team got any better results on the field for the $60M Manning cost them than they would have gotten from Tebow for a fraction of the cost. Off the field, Manning drove a lot of other sales so maybe the team made its money back there.
Ive found that no matter how much I care or don't care about the Broncos, it doesn't change how they play. That's why I've found myself doing other things on Sundays. It is sad to see Manning finish out like this though. Elway paid a high price to bring him here and no superbowl means it wasn't worth it. One superbowl would have justified it. His first year here was our chance and they screwed it up against the Ravens.
I still think Manning should have bowed out after the terrible SB performance against Seattle. Walk out leaving the fans wanting more, instead of overstaying and having everyone wish he'd just retire already. That's what it's looking like now. While I like him, he's a talented and brilliant QB, he's been faltering the last 12 games he's played. Last season proved he was done, and with the exception of ONE good game so far this season, he's proving that point in spades. I love the Broncos, always have, always will, but I'll be damned if I have fun rooting for a team that goes almost 3 1/2 quarters without putting any points on the board to a team we already beat once.
No, we're comparing what $60M would have got the team. One Manning near the end of his career or a transition QB plus a lot of other talent. End results of Manning's first season as a Bronco were no better than Tebow's last season as a Bronco -- but hey, you got to buy Manning a whole lot of Papa Johns franchises ...
This thread clearly isn't for people who actually understand football so I'll just back out slowly now.
