RIP, Mr. Bowie.
Not a fan of all his music but definitely some. Can't argue that he had an affect on musical culture.
RIP David
I had no idea he had cancer either. He probably wanted to keep it out of the mainstream media & tabloids. R.I.P. David.
He released a studio album 2 days before his death-may have been a goodbye message RIP
Wow. That sucks.
Been a bad month for British musicians.
Surprised here too.
We tend to lose track of it, but folks are getting older. Bowie was 69.
Yes he did.

Always respected the man. He was always about doing his own thing, regardless of what pop culture said was "In". Ziggy defined himself, didn't let society or the media do it.
Been a fan since the early days, saw Ziggy in the 70s in concert in Arizona.
RIP, a true artist.
Never a big Bowie fan but one hell of a talented guy who had the gift of being able to change with the times. I did like his earlier work like "Rebel Rebel" and Young Americans.
His greatest musical contribution?
He brought Stevie Ray Vaughn to us. Bowie discovered SRV in a club in Austin.
SRV's first national tour was as the opener for Bowie.
Listen to the guitar in "Let's Dance". Yup, SRV.
The stars look very different today.
He also saved the life of Iggy Pop.
But what stands out for me was when he refused to be knighted by the queen. Truly punk-rock...

Sorry, all I can think about when I hear David Bowie's name is that silly "Labryinth" movie with all of the puppets.
