Our car took a crap on I-25, the repair will be more than the car is worth. We're purchasing a new car but need to get rid of the old one.
Anyone use a junk car buyer (hauler) before? It's still in okay shape so it's not totally worthless.

CAT killed engine?
I've junked several cars like you're talking about. Post #2 is spot on about what you'll get for it. Can't recall the name of the place I used but they showed up the same day and paid cash.
On a side note, if the body and interior are decent I might have a buyer for you.
Find a buddy with AAA, tow it somewhere safe and post an ad on CL. I'm sure you can get more than what a scrap yard will get you.
1. Tow it home buy pizza and beer and a used part. Get it running and sell it
2. Drag it home. Part it out.
3. Drag it home sell it as is
4. Drag it to a scrap yard
5. Call a scrap company
6. Sell it to the mechanic
7. Sign the title over to whomever and walk away.
Scrap value is way down... Don't get your hopes up, you'll be lucky to get $100, maybe more if you haul it there yourself.
Scheduled a pick-up for $400, thanks gents!
It was the V6, I believe a 3.6l.
The 4 cylinder Escape has a 2.0L engine. And is setup for front wheel drive. I doubt it is even remotely close to your '03 Ranger.
I have a 2000 Ranger 4.0 4x4 with 230k miles and 100% factory exhaust. I don't think the Rangers were known for exhaust issues.
