Sweet! I really want to do this. Good luck man!!
Have fun, take pictures. 16" barrel?
Helicopter? That would be fun shit.
16". No chopper. I'm, how do you say, prices out of that particular method. Tree stands over feeders and stomping around the brush for us.
i will update with progress.
color me jealous :) I hope it's a literal blast and look forward to your pictures! [Beer]

Tannerite and an old riding lawn mower around the feeders should clean up a group of hogs nicely.
My first hog trip was quite interesting. My buddy thought he had shot one, so we went into the brush after it (probably dumb). At that moment, I only had a 6" 657 .41 Mag, and he had a 7mm Rem Mag. All of a sudden, we had pigs everywhere, including 15 lb footballs running between my legs. Pretty exciting 30 seconds!
Good luck in your hunt!
just came back ourselves from the same thing.
was a blast, as always
what area of texas?
This morning was insanely lucky. We rolled out at sunset just to get familiar with the area. Just off the road were a couple hogs. My buddy hopped out and collected a sow on a sweet off hand head shot.
15 minutes later, we rolled up to a feeder where about 8 pigs, 2 sows and 6 littleuns were rootin around. I got within 30 yards on foot. Momma sow looked around saw me, faced me directly, then dropped right where she stood. Put it on her right nostril.
Pics inbound ASAP.
certainly in the top 5 of most fun things you can do with your clothes on.
Sweet! I'll get my smoker cleaned up and ready.....
Show us the gun you really shot the hog with. We all know you can't hunt anything with those assault rifles the Dems said so.
Thanks fellas. Heading up to wheat ridge tomorrow to start processing the meat. We ended up only taking one sow a piece, but definitely a trip I want to take again and again.
yeah, that's pretty much what happened to the wife and I.
we expect a full report, including where you went.
Hunting on a private ranch outside Flatonia TX. We went out the first morning, just to take in the ranch. Once out, we saw two hogs about 30 minutes apart. My buddy took the first and I took the second. We spent the next few days cursing piglets and sows that wouldn't leave the brush, but it was a ton of fun.
Dropped the meat off at Rocky Mountain Meats in Wheat Ridge. Can't wait for those tasty morsels.
Also, the ranch owners had some 4 week old puppies.
