Hell, the weathermen frequently report the CURRENT conditions wrong. I've literally seen them say no chance of rain WHILE it's raining outside.

The warmists like to point out the diminished Arctic icecap, but they seem to ignore the massive expansion in the Antarctic icecap. The next solar cycle is supposed to be one of the lowest on record...but that must be our fault.

The accepted border between our atmosphere and outer space is about 65 miles. Get the biggest globe you can find, measure off 65 miles on the surface, then come that distance up above the surface of the globe. That's a pretty damn thin atmosphere around this planet! We think those airliners are waaaay up there at 35-40,000 feet, but when you actually measure that distance from the surface of a globe, even a huge one, it's eye-opening.
Rosen called it a "grand conceit" to think that we have so much of an influence on the planets overall climate. I believe he's right.
And "they" have actually convinced a good portion of people that carbon is bad. I was taught in school that carbon was the building block of life. And that plants "eat" CO2. It's a pollutant now.

I don't think that human activity is insignificant, not at all. That doesn't mean I think there should be Federal pressure though.
To put a value of significance to it, you have to be able to quantify it, know enough about it to determine cause, and also determine what fraction is attributable to mankind. None of that can be done based on our current understanding. Anthropogenic global warming/climate change/etc. is a hell of a lot closer to religion than true science.
A single volcanic eruption can put out more noxious gases than the emissions generated by man since the industrial revolution. We like to have the illusion of being significant...but we really aren't.
