Hi guys,

does anybody know a good rv repair shop? I need a fresh water tank replaced in my toy hauler.

ETA, Business sold, not the same owner so my recommendation is withdrawn.

(Repair) Business Address is no longer valid. AFAIK, the storage lot on the east side of Elizabeth still operates, but I can't confirm or comment further.

And much cheaper. I started doing our camper / rv repairs after being quoted $300 labor for a heating unit and thermostat. Looked at the heater, read the owners manual, looked at heater again. Removed 6 sheet metal screws, replaced unit unscrewed 4? thermostat screws, including 2 mounting to wall. Done in 45 minutes.

Water pump, 30 minute job.

Easier with an extra pair of hands.. You do realize, mostly everything on a rv / camper is hing with sheet metal screws.
If you're going to replace an awning that's torn, not too much an issue. If it's hammered where it attaches, might as well install with new screw areas. Make sure to use some UV resistant sealant on existing holes.

Did the awning last year. Did it with a friend and my two teen sons. Could have done without it the boys, but doubt I could have accomplished it alone. A lot of things to line up and keep still (at 10' off the floor.)

Easier to pull them off and do them on the ground.

Pretty simple jerb with 3 guys.

Getting the endcaps off/on and winding correct for most setups takes some patience and care.

I have done a lot of my own repairs, this one doesn't seem too tuff, but the tank looks like they put it in between the frame rails, THEN welded the rails together. Not sure how to remove the tank and can't fin any info on the net. It doesn't help that it is right above the axles.

I am in the process of calling the recommended shops. Thanks for the input.

Agreed, I did all I could on the ground but the dismount and remount on the camper could've ended badly had I been alone. Wound it backwards the first time, then took two tries to get it would tightly enough.

Felt great when done however

In all honesty, we did three of them one day and unfortunately, mine was the first and was 1/4 rev off somehow despite our best efforts to get it right. Still works, but can be a PITB at times. The other two were perfect.

Was just looking at my camper and the fenders are cracked .. They are plastic not fiberglass. Has anyone tried having fenders plastic welded? Also, can anyone recommend a plastic welder in the COS area?
