Tire mounting question

I have a Jeep Rubicon with the standard wheels and tires that come with it. My wheels are gray. A buddy of mine that has the same exact wheels and tires (with slightly less wear) recently upgraded to different wheels and tires and gave me the old ones. Since his wheels are black I want to put them on my Jeep. However I need them balanced and the TMPS from each tire on my current set put on the new set (five tires with spare). Is there someone who can do this for a decent price in the Brighton area. Discount tire wants about $200.

I can mount 'em, but my balancer won't do most car/truck wheels, it's pretty motorcycle specific.

$200 to mount 5 tires seems high. There are used tire places off of 58th and I-25. I use Go Green Tires on Federal, $15 a tire for mounting.

As always I appreciate the offer. It's a bit of a drive for me with a 3 year old and a 3 month old.

Small mexican tire shop down here in lakewood, probably will do it reasonable. I just had 4 dismounted, mounted, balanced and disposal for I think $80. Non TPMS though.

Reception girl is hot too. I have no spanish skills, so I must work with her. ;)

You could try what was formerly Premire Tire down in commerce city.

Used to be a place called Guzman's on Washington St. north of I-70. Real cheap tire work.

Check tire rack, they have a list of shops and prices.

I just had a similar thing done on my Outback at Discount Tire last month and it was ~$90. Are they charging more for offroad tires? I think I was charged for "winter tire changeover" and "TPMS service". Really all they are doing is popping the bead to remove tpms on 5 tires then popping the bead to install tpms and balancing. Technically they did more work on mine since they had to mount the new set of tires (not bought from them) too.

It sounds stupid but have you checked the Jeep dealers? Some of them will do tire work dirt cheap to get you in the door and price match. Check walmart/SAMs too that do tires.

Our local Sams Club will not work on tires they didn't sell.

This is why it pays to have a diversified group of friends. Last time I needed similar work done it only cost me a twelve pack of beer.

I have a manual tire changer and bubble balancer. IF it can't be done in your area.

Bring the kids. We'll rub them in bacon grease, the pups and them will keep occupied. ;).

If they are the same gen of Jeeps couldn't you just balance the new tires reset/relearn the new TPMS sensors to your Jeep? I assume most tire shops have the tool.

Unless they removed the TPMS sensors from those wheels.

Got it done for a little over $100 here in Brighton. I needed five tires done (had the spare as well). The problem was the TPMS was missing out of my new set of tires because they were taken out by the 4 wheel shop for my buddies new set of tires. I needed to use the TPMS from the set that was on the Jeep already. The almost $200 Price that I was quotes was from Discount here in Brighton.
