Has anyone here built a low cost portable shooting table? Looking to build something with folding or removable legs. Please share a photo if you've built one. As well as things you'd do different next time. Thanks.

I picked up one of these, unless you just want the project and expense, this was cheap enough & no hammer smashed fingers.

That's what I've been using for as long as I can remember. It's just difficult (at least less comfortable) to use than a bench with a cutout. Especially when sighting in with my Lead Sled.
Add a tounge to the table for the sled. Attach tounge with some clamps and you are done. Easy and portable.
I built these using buffet table legs and vinyl covered particle board. I can provide details if you want.

I made the tables out of 3/4" vinyl covered particle board. Once the shape was cut I cut 1"x1" angle iron to go around the perimeter to make it stiffer and to provide a lip to keep rounds from rolling off. The corners of the angle iron was welded and ground smooth. Then screws were used to attach it to the particle board. The legs are standard buffet table legs.
Dimensions of table.

I put scraps from the cutout under the front legs to raise the front and allow the front legs to fold over rear.

Can you be more specific about what you mean by "vinyl covered?"

Yeah they like to shoot. They both started at 5 with single shot .22lr bolt rifles.
I have spoiled them a little over the years.

Occasionally but not very often. When shooting prairie dogs you switch the angle so often that the table could be a rectangle and work almost as well.
The original design I used had cutouts on both sides, that might be why it was only 6".
If I was using it to shoot straight ahead at stationary target a bigger cutout would probably be better.
