Violentia Operandi
Just spent the last 2 hours searching in Olympic Park which is where he was last seen. Apparently this is a fairly routine thing for the boy. Met his Aunt who was also out looking for him, she seemed a bit underwhelmed by the whole thing.

Looks like a home that needs key locks on the insides of the doors as well as the outside.
I used to live at Lewiston and Vassar. I hope the boy gets found.
People's attitudes sometimes concern me. As you mentioned Aunt was underwhelmed. I'm never sure if this happens all the time or they actually just don't care.
Any word as to whether or not they found this child?

Doesn't appear so.
It was pretty cold out last night, if the family isn't hiding him, or someone with no intent in harming him took him - both unlikely scenarios, the prospects are pretty dim for the boy. My wife was distraught last night.

I think the chances that someone took him in with no ill intent, is much higher than him running across some random child murderer. Let's hope that's the case.
If someone found a random 6 year old boy after dark one would hope the first thing they would do, aside from rendering immediately necessary life saving first aid, would be to contact 911.
That and this side of 80013 is chock full of pretty shitty people.

My wife is looking at Aurora PD's Facebook page and from a poster in the comments someone is claiming, (unconfirmed at this point), that the Mother of David Puckett has had some of her other children taken from her before by the state for Child endangerment and neglect in Oklahoma before moving to Colorado.

As of current, the boy is still missing. Prayers for him.
I know several people looking for him. There's a frantic edge to things because of how cold it was last night. God, I hope he's okay. :(
I grew up across the street from Olympic Park before anything was there. There used to be a lot of places to get lost but thankfully all us neighborhood kids stuck together and no one wandered too far.
Second one missing...

Fabian Xavier Rosales, 13, was last seen Sunday at 10:30 p.m. on East 11th Avenue, near Del Mar Parkway and Havana Park.
Second one is the first step to a pattern... praying for all concerned... bad times.
ETA: soft primer
ETA 2: Rosales (second case) found safe!

Just got the amber alert on phone for the original missing kid.
It takes 48 hours for an amber alert to be triggered? article at KKTV indicated police said it did not meet criteria for AA at the original time of reporting:

What on earth triggers an amber alert?
I think usually if they suspect a kid has been taken triggers it, and he left on his own. Other alerts don't work that way though (Senior Alert for example) and you'd think we'd be sensitive enough about kids that they'd put it out anyway.
Wonder if they discovered something after finding the second one that caused them to issue the amber alert.
Not good...

UPDATE: Body of child found deceased in pond #FindingDavid #AMBERAlert

My heart breaks over this. I hope he died quickly and didn't suffer long, and that he wasn't thrown in there by anyone.

So...how was the pond not searched prior to this? My only guess is the fact that if he was in there, they already knew the answer to his condition so they used the time/energy in searching places he could have survived in? I still don't see how you don't search that first to get it off the check list.
I am guess he fell through the ice? I had a feeling yesterday about the picture of him with pool water in the background. Sad story.
Prayers for the family! Parents should never bury their children!

Body believed to be of missing 6-year-old Aurora boy found in icy park pond
Quote:
Bloodhounds were brought in early in the investigation, but a speciality dog was brought in Monday night and it gave indications around the pond. Firefighters went into the water Tuesday morning and found the body, Metz said.
He added the area was heavily searched since Saturday, but there were no indications of broken ice.
“Even the family members said they had gone around it and didn’t see anything,” Metz said.
This one hit me hard for some reason, it's been weighing on me since the boy went missing. The news of the body in the lake came on while I was at the gym, and let's just say I'm glad the sweat hid the tears. I've gotten soft since having two little boys...
I'm just hoping this stays as an accident and nothing bad took place RIP David
Amber Alert requirements by law:

I know what you mean. It didn't help that I grew up in that area. We used to have a large pond that would ice over just behind the softball fields. That was removed for the skate park over 15 years ago (I think). So it sounds like the small pond by the parking lot.
I got the news from a grandma reminding up to talk to our son about water. We do and he uses great judgment, but still. Very sad news.
In this instance an amber alert would have done nothing. Frankly in a lot of cases it does nothing.
Social media spreads news faster than an amber alert.
