Hospital experience @ Littleton?

**Update- I got home a little bit ago from a few days at Littleton. I must say it was a very good experience as far as hospitals go. Without going in to the details I'll just say I wouldn't have any issues or concerns being treated there again. Now to figure out how to make up for my deductible LOL.** Looking forward to a quiet weekend, you all take care.

Have any of you had a personal experience with Littleton Adventist Hospital? I've been a patient at Swedish but for various reasons I'd rather not go there again. Littleton is about equidistant and would prefer to make that my first choice if it's decent. My docs have privileges at both and are indifferent to choosing one over the other. They feel my comfort level is most important in the event of a stay. Thanks.

One of the minions was born there. Daughter liked the staff and facilites. Was about 3 1/2 yes ago.

Had my appendix removed there at Littleton Adventist. Seemed good, but luckily I didn't have any other hospitalization to compare it to.

Room was decent, staff was attentive. My doc lacked any bedside manner but did the job just fine.

Very good service there for us. Both kids born there (now 19 and 24) so a long time ago for that, but more recent procedures and ER visits have been good.

Even if your doc has privileges there. Verify with your ins co that hospital is In Network, BEFORE you switch. When the spousal unit shattered her leg last spring, ambulance took her to hospital they contract to. OOPS with it being an emergency at the time. verifying that one was in network wasn't a priority.

Being considered an emergency, not elective, we didn't get hit too hard for initial treatment , stabilizing her to be able for transfer to in network.

Thanks, I'm covered at either-a lesson my younger son learned in '15. He had the wonderful now closed Colorado HealthOp (was working part-time, is a type 1 diabetic and asthmatic and it was the only plan he could afford then) when he had an emergency appendectomy at 4am. He went to the closest er for unbearable stomach pain, his claim was denied as it was out of network (guess he was supposed to check before his girlfriend at the time took him though he could barely talk) he's still paying off a $26k bill. Anyway, I'm good with my insurance plan. Thanks for the feedback guys.

My wife has been there enough that it's used as a second address. Good people and nice facility.

Been there more times than I care to remember. Nice facility, good care and staff. Some hospitalists are better than others but overall always had a good experience there.

Been thereway too many time including a 11 day stay after a motorcycle accident. Its a great facility with a crew that care about you. Food was good, nurses were young and pretty. Only had one "nurse ratchett" experience with an idiot absolutely wanting to insert an IV in my wrist.... she was quickly dismissed, and i never saw her again on my floor.

My first wife had 4 surgeries there. They built a new wing onto the hospital during her procedures. I figured we were paying for that wing and it would be named after us. [Coffee]

I like Littleton Adventist better than Sky Ridge, but they seem to not have as many of the specialties covered as Sky Ridge. Maybe it's just my experience/perception. The food at Sky Ridge has definitely gone downhill.

Had a kiddo there. Our experience there was WAY better than when we had our 1st kiddo at Swedish.

Been through 7 or 8 babies at Littleton (not all mine). The OBGYN over there and the whole staff were HUGELY preferred by the women in our family. Escorted family members to the ER on two occasions I can remember - was better than average but I don't remember being excited either way. Not sure that means anything for the rest of the hospital there or not. But we do live on the far East side of town, so it was a drive to go there.

We had our first and only child there 3 1/2 years ago and it was a great experience for all.

I was also hospitalized for three days there a couple of years ago. Other than a long delay between the ER and hospital admittance, I had a pretty good experience. My only dislike was the lack of doctors actually coming into the room and seeing/speaking to you. There were a lot of nurses and PA's who did the actual bedside time with the patient (me), but the doctor(s) reviewed the files and guided care.

All in all, I would highly recommend Littleton Hospital.

I know this hospital inside and out I did years of work at this hospital and many others around town. I know that the staff at Litttleton care about the people they are caring for, if you had any idea what the staff does to contractors working to update or expand a hospital you would understand why it cost so much to build.

Have only been to the ER for a bladder infection. Don't remember much since I was so sick at the time, but got better within 12 hours of receiving antibiotics.
